You are all right!! If it wasnt called than it wasnt a foul. WC_FIELDS Im arguing my point not hating on the USA. I dont know what replay you saw but I saw the golie on the floor after a save and Dempsy ran into him. Everybody keeps saying how much experience they have in soccer, what does that mean? Does it make you all experts? I have my opinion on the play and you have yours, and you are right because it wasnt called. Just like Luis Fabianos goal against Ivory Coast wasnt hand ball twice because it wasnt called.
I consider myself as much as an expert. Certified official for IHSA, USSF, and FIFA. The official made the correct no call on that play.

I too have played soccer since I could walk and all the way through College. I just watched this play 6 times and there was no US foul on the Algerian goalie. Dempsey was going for the 50/50 ball and tripped over the goalie's feet. Now if he would have slide into the keeper and affected to chance to move, then yes it would be a foul.
come on dont judge him....if you were as good as him why you aren't playing in the pro league

There's nothing wrong with thinking a call could have gone in the favor of the U.S....
But suggesting that was a foul (which it was clearly not) and trying to argue it as much as you are, leads me to believe you are actually just hating on the US team... no other way to really justify your rant.
Because that was not even remotely close to a foul, now that I have looked at it again. Dempsey was trying to score, the goallie came out to tackle him... the contact was instigated far more by the goallie than by Dempsey...
And that is not even debatable, so how are you supposedly a former soccer player trying to make this claim?
I can't believe you really think that was a foul

Luis did something that is 100% against the rule book and nothing was subjective about it
The fact that you'd even compare the 2 shows you don't understand the meaning of 50/50 balls and that Dempsey in no way impeded his movement
Also Dempsey got to the ball first and the goalie commited the contact trying to block the shot
So how is it a foul?
Please explain b'c I can't fathom how it was a foul and nobody in their right mind on tv, radio, newspapers has brought it up let alone debated it

I was actually going for the USA, believe it or not. What people dont understand is there are many views to calls. For instance- I didnt cry when they took the first goal away from the US against Slovania, when Edu scored. If you look at why they even had a free kick was because Altadore takes a dive and they call a foul. Bad call to give them a free kick = bad call taking goal away. I dont expect anybody to agree with Altadore taking a dive or them equaling eachother but oh well

I want to APOLOGIZE to all. I just watched the replay again and I never saw Dempsy shoot the ball. I thought Altadore was the one that shot and Dempsy came in and ran into the golie. I was WRONG!!!!!!
