If you HONESTLY do not think the US losing the way they are to JAMAICA is not a train wreck, you are lost. They have done so much over the past 2 years to advance their program. Anything short of a win here is a HUGE step back. Period.

C'mon people. Be serious. Anyone not seeing this as a enormous upset and step back for US Soccer is kidding themselves.
The US cannot lose at HOME to Jamaica. Sorry folks, but if you truly follow US Soccer, you will know this.

US had ton's of chances, but couldn't convert. Worst tournament loss in the Klinsman era. The US was 13W-8D-1L versus Jamaica before this game. Horrible loss.
I didn't like Klinsman's defensive selections for the tournament or his starting picks for today.
Alvarado and Brooks at CB?? Why no Omar Gonzalez?? How was Matt Besler not on the squad? That 1st goal would not have happened if Gonzalez and Besler both started at CB.
Should've played Yedlin at RB today, not slow Brad Evans.
Bedoya over Zusi at MF??
I don't think I saw Zardes have ONE decent touch the whole game. Wondo should've started over him.
And what's with the 4-2-3-1 formation today?? Should've stuck with the standard 4-4-2.
Awful decisions by Klinsman in so many areas.

Jamaica were underrated this whole tournament and losing to them, while still being an upset, is nothing too surprising. Along with T&T, Jamaica has come out and REALLY made a big step forward this tournament. Just because the U.S. lost to a team they normally beat (always a close game though) doesn't mean the sky is falling. Jamaica scored a goal off a throw-in where no one seemed to want the ball and then a beautiful free kick from a call I've never seen made in a game before. Credit to their defense in the second half because U.S. could have scored 3 in the first 20 minutes and put the game to rest.
U.S. three group games were mediocre at best. This is who they are. Without Altidore up top, the next best guy (Johannsson in most matches) is simply not good enough. You can't rely on Bradley and Dempsey every game to make something happen. The team is still very young, they're not going to be perfect. I'll begin to have lofty expectations for this team once they put together a backline with any sort of consistency. I trust Klinsmann in that he is mixing up the lineup almost every game with this team. I really do not think he is all that worried about losing a Gold Cup match when his eye is on the World Cup. I don't even blame him; he's brought in A TON of guys in his short time so far and I don't think he's comfortable with most of them. The addition of Gordon had me really questioning his choices... one way you're SURE to not score is to play long balls and try to beat Jamaica in the air. Eventually he'll realize this team is NOT Germany, not by a long shot.

This I agree with. They spent the last 20 min. of the game doing this.

I never said Jamaica wasn't in form or playing great... they were.
BUT... anyone not thinking this loss wasn't a major step backwards for US Soccer is simply fooling themselves. Look where this program has come from over the past 4 years. They are now competitive on the WORLD stage and have beaten teams like Germany and Netherlands playing WITH many of their first team players.
Especially with the women winning the World Cup, there is now pressure on the men to continue to progress forward and improve. Losing to Jamaica in a Regional tournament is certainly not achieving that and IS a step backwards.
