My picks for Wednesday are:
1.Lazio Rome-Catania: Lazio to win (1.55)
2.Inter Mailand-Udinese: Inter Mailand to win (1.36)
3.Empoli-Messina: under 2.5 goals (1.60)
(all Italy)
4.Panathinaikos Athens-Skoda Xanthi: Panathinaikos to win (1.35)
(Greece Cup)
5.Stuttgart-Hertha Berlin: Stuttgart to win (1.85)
in regular time, no OT!(Germany Cup)
Stuttgart-Hertha ended last Friday 0-0 in a Bundesliga match. Now these two teams meet again in a 1/4 final Cup game. Last week I was sure that Stuttgart would win. I was wrong. Hertha took second striker Giminez out and played with a fith midfielder (4-5-1). In fact Hertha played a very coward (but successfull) 6-3-1 system. The two most important offensive midfielders Bastürk and "Prince" Boateng were injuried. Hertha Coach Götz noticed that Herthas offensive wouldnt work anyway without these two guys. So he decided to take the second striker out abd put all in the defense. Smart move, Hertha tied that game. This story will be the same tomorrow. These two midfielders are still sidelined and wont play tomorrow. So Hertha will build two defense lines with the aim to score a lucky goal or reach overtime and the penalties. Little difference is that this time the very expierenced Mexican International Pardo is available for Stuttgart. He will give the Stuttgart midfield more structure. I hope Stuttgart will score this time. The logic tells me to play the "under 2,5" goals, my instinct tells me to pick Stuttgart to win. I decided to follow my instinct, lol. If Stuttgart wont win, I see very good chances for the "under 2,5". So I will play an "under" (1.75) on an insurance pick.

I wish I could've seen it w/my own eyes bc I bet it was reaaly exciting. I took Lazio(mostly bc of your reco.) along w/Empoli in a two-teamer that was looking dead in the water at the 88' last time I checked on Livescore. So I'm down but look again for the hell of it & oh my gosh Lazio scores 2 late to preserve my play. Too cool. Thanks Lutz for the post. Soccers' kind of down the list here at Wagerline, but you & Flyers really keep it relevent
