I wasnt going to post my picks today, because my "cute" picks have been losing and my "square" picks have been losing. On top of that I dont enjoy capping or betting France 1 or League Cup matches...
Heck with it. Balls to the wall. Some of these are following line movement. I'll give a brief reason why so I dont sound crazy.
DONT BLIND TAIL
PSG win +124 Actually, not a play that I am fond of, because of Nancy's recent home form (3-1-1). PSG has not lost in 13 matches, but the ML wont protect me against the dreaded draw.
St Etienne +1 +117 Lille is top in the league, and absolutely on fire at the moment. St Etienne hasnt lost in their last 5, including 2 clean sheets most recently against Arles and Monaco. This one could also turn out bad...
Levante +2.5 -118 Real Madrid scoring goals hand over fist except for a hiccup at Barca and a snoozer hosting Sevilla this weekend. Soccervista shows Ronaldo is not starting, but Alonso and Ozil and Bezema are. I havent confirmed starting eleven. Levante played RM to a 0-0 draw earlier this season...Im saying my prayers for a 2-0 result. Weather says its currently aining in Madrid and a 70% chance of rain tonite.
Eintracht Frankfurt over 2.5 -111 7 of Aachen's last 8 have been over 2.5, including a home Cup win against Mainz 2-1. 6 of Eintracht's last 9 have been over 2.5, including a home Cup win over Hamburger 5-2. Weather calls for freezing rain.
Stuttgart over 2.75 -125 11 of Bayern Munchen's last 14 matches have seen 3 or more goals. 10 of Stuttgart's last 13 matches has seen 3 or more goals. Weather will be above freezing with a chance of rain/snow.
Brest +.25 +114 I just like the word brest.
Brest only has 3 losses in the last 12 matches, and all 3 were AWAY to Lille, PSG and Rennes....the #1, 2 and 3 teams respectively. Brest is only 1 point behind Marseilles, and only 4 points behind league leader Lille.
If I get swept, then the Christmas break may do me some good....

Thats okay Bake, nobody is having a gun at their head to tail or fade. Its up to each individual to make their own determinations.I understand how you may feel frustrated too but it will turn soon, hopefully right.

Those Spanish cup games have been snoozefest so I may follow you. Maybe Levante and under. Surprised you're not playing the over in Holland. Those guys tend to score many more than the other leagues, even in cup games. Very slow week after today.

trance good to see you.....man, it was hard enough to bet even 1 spanish cup and 2 german cup matches...
I would probably take PSV away as well as Utrecht over...
Im interested to know the starting XI for Real Madrid though... The Levenate line went from +2.5 -118 to +2.5 -132 this morning...im interested to see if it is still moving in that direction...

Keep the footie favourites and picks coming, bake!
I am a loyal soccer forum reader, and I truly appreciate your input, and that of the daily pitch post crew -- especially on those days when working for The Man gets in the way of handicapping matches.
I totally agree with your repeated advice/comments about "blind tailing." Whining about a tailed loss is assinine as a homeless person pissed off about cold chicken noodle from the soup kitchen.
Furthermore, the greatest lesson I've learned after five years of regular sports betting is to shrug off every loss and sharply focus on the next win.
Don't sweat the haters, bake.

Hey Bake on 5 dimes the bottom team is home I suppose?
just got home fellas...I left work for a Xmas lunch and left straight from work to head home...a 70 mile 2 hr commute in the 7th straight day of a down pour was a bit draining.
8-0 Real Madrid is a bit more than I couldve imagined I shouldve known when Levante lost 1-3 to Atl last match AT HOME...
The Aachen match 0-0 surprises me, but the under didnt really....that was a square bet. Eintracht can play good D, but they can also score 3 themselves.
The Brest felt good...(I just wanted to type that!)
Im glad to come hom eot see the draw machine St Etienne end up getting the equalizer in the 76th minute. The draw paid about +280 +320 I think...
PSG was square as well, as Nancy is VERY stingy with goals at home. Problem is, I'd fall into the trap and bet PSG again at plus money if given the chance.
The PSG match is a perfect example of how betting the draw as well (making it an NTL) can substantially increase the juice of the bet (as I noted in another thread) and if it doesnt hit can easily wipe out a few days of winners...
I learned my lesson after this past weekend....I will never bet another Stutt or Bayern under
jsab, the bottom team on most books is the home team, except for the Greek, who make the top team the home team. When in doubt, just go to www.futbol24.com and whomever is on the left side is the home team (unless it is at a neutral site.
