To be fair its not all Roy's fault he is a good manager but can't manage superstar or prima dona players like Torres or Carra.

Rafa overspent but can manage big players he just didn't have enough World beaters only Torres and Gerrard at Inter he has loads, Milito, stankovic, sneidjer, e'too so maybe its no surprise hes doing well

Rafa's bank wasn't that big at all in the years Hicks and Gillet were at the helm.

When we finished 2nd two years ago, we should have pushed on and added a couple of extra stars to the squad. Unfortunately, with those tight bastards in charge, Rafa had to sell-to-buy and when Rick Parry left, replaced by Hicks bumchum (at the time) Purslow (who was instrumental in Rafa leaving, and Roy joining) alot of the transfer control went out of the manger's hands. Rafa left because he wasn't a 'yes' man.

A complete fuck up which summed up the state of the club under those two twats!

I agree that Roy is a half decent manager, but he's too set in his ways and way out of his depth at Liverpool.

Bellamy, Keane, Crouch, Voronin,Josemi etc and hopw many were sold for more than they were bought??

Bellamy, Crouch, Voronin and Josemi were all sold at a profit. Not forgetting Alonso, Sissoko, Arbeloa, Gonzalez and Masch as well.

Keane was a £3m loss overall. 

Considering the revenue we were getting from the CL alone thanks to winning it, as well as a number of semi's, quarter's and another final appearance, Rafa's bank should have been higher.

Anyhooooooo, rumours are that Pellegrini is now interested in the job. 

And Roy has put his foot in it again today in a press conference regarding Torres.

Yeah, no wonder H&G fought so hard to stay. They must have been taking a fair bit of out the club along with the £40m on interest payments for the debt.

They also spent £30m on stadium plans!!!!!!

I love how some of the journalists in this country said that H&G invested money in the squad when it didn't take alot of research to figure out it was all borrowed money against the club. No wonder the western world is a financial mess when you've got so many cowboys like this borrowing money right, left and centre without ability to repay.

Glad they didn't go to Ocean finance for help.


Surely it's about time for Brucie to get a knighthood. Felt like it's been on the cards for about 20 years now. He's getting on a bit and won't be doing much  for alot longer.   

 

Roy is a good coach and taking a bunch of players and making them into a team isnt easy. He will need to shuffle his players around and many will go and more to come.....Liverpool is a big club but they have a bad reputation and I fear they wont be able to attrack any new talent unless they pay through the nose.

Roy is a good coach. He knows English football and Liverpool can succeed with Roy, but he will need time to stamp his authority on the organization.  He has talent in the squad without a doubt....he needs to get them playing as a team....but a chain is only as strong as its weakest link.....and right now Roy isnt that guy.....I could name a few defenders that should go,,,,and for fucks sake.....just sell Torres, even the Spaniards think he sucks right now..........If Torress cant lure any world class players to play with him, they get rid of him, cause he cant score under the present formation and support that recieves from the midfielders and wingers.....anyway, sorry to ramble.....Liverpool have problems......Roy is a good coach.....he needs time....thats all.....Liverpool will be back in the top 5 within 2 years....these things take time to heal the wounds from so many losses and mismanagement....

Unfortunatley MW I think Roy's tactics are far too negative to take the club anywhere over the long term. Have you seen how deep he has the team playing?

He's so set in his ways and at an age where he is unwilling to adapt that the long-term with Roy is a place where I don't wanna go.

Torres has been poor but have you seen how little service he's getting in Roy's system? We're a disjointed mess, with players (who Roy has signed) playing out of position. He's managed to already alienate our best defender in Agger who seems to have disappeared completely (as well as insulting his country in a press conference) and is on the way to forcing Reina out the club because he wants him to be more 'English' in his goalkeeping methods. What the hell is that all about?

All credit to Hodgson for taking Fulham to the Europa Cup final last year and saving them from relegation a couple of years back, but don't forget he took over at Blackburn two years after they won the title and, with one of the most expensive sqauds in the league, was complicit in leading them to relegation.

Don't forget, Roy hasn't won an away game in the league since August 2009 (and that was at Portsmouth). For someone who knows England i'd hate to see how someone with less knowledge would cope. This is unacceptable and one the reasons the alarm bells were ringing upon his appointment.

Some will say that Roy needs time to build his side, but after the £5m signing of 30 yr old Poulson and even worse, £5m plus two of our decent youngsters in deal for Konchesky, I don't want to see Roy being given any more money to spend.

His methods and defeatist attitude in press conferences install no hope whatsoever. Already some of the Fulham players have admitted that since his departure they are enjoying more attacking freedom and the style of play has improved.

Our current squad isn't good enough for top 4, but we're certainly better than 19th. The worry is that Roy pins the blame on everyone but himself - hence the problem that he won't, or is incapable of changing. Coming out after the Merseyside derby and saying it was our best performance of the season was a complete insult to the fans and deluded beyond belief.

It's not the Liverpool way to get rid of managers so quickly, but sometimes you just know you're heading in the wrong direction and have to cut your losses before you end up languishing in the lower half of the table where Roy appears to be more at home.   

Sorry for the rant MW, just needed to vent.

This needs to be resolved fast - no-one is too good to go down not even LIverpool.

Southampton had a good squad when they went down, why, -- Steve Wigley, an ugly bloke who looked more suited to laying bricks and looked as if a pencil should be behind his ear, pitting his wits v Mopurinho, Wenger, Benitez, ferguson, p-lease, it took them 14 games and just 1 win to realise their mistake by then they were already down. Liverpool are on the same path
