Same thing happened to me. Thought I was taking New Orleans in an NBA exhibition game and it gave me an actual regular season game for Oct 22.
It doesn't make sense that you should even be allowed to make a pick that far in advace, given that the Rules say you have to make a pick at least once every 7 days. I don't see why those games were even listed on the site as options given the 7 day rule.
You read wrong, as it is clearly stated in the rules that the seven days applies once the result of the match is in.
From the moment that your pick selection is determined to be a win, loss or tie (push), you have 7 days to make a new selection or your score will be reset to zero.
