SASQUATCH SIGHTED IN ALABAMA! FILM AT ELEVEN! It's over over! It's
over! My losing streak on Streak Survivor has mercifully ended at seven
games! 7GAMES?! It's true. I had gone so far as to nickname a win as a
Bigfoot, due to the elusive nature of both. Thank you, ANGELS, for beating
the KING and his punchless Seafarers! The Halos have ended my suffering and given me some positive momentum heading into the All-Star Break. Good luck to you, Dimers!
I'm happy that that ugly streak is over Bama. If it went any further I would have suggested that you fade yourself. That would have a put an automatic end to it guranteed. Like playing from the darkside in craps when you have the dice.

I must say we must consider going big with this NL West Theory! This is the biggest thing since the NHL went to 5.5 total goals! Just winner after winner! I say we ride it till the wheels fall off!

I'm glad to see that your losing streak is over! Good luck on the All Star game if you pick it!I'm thinking of taking Over 8.5, they are overdue for an Over as the last 2 games have gone Under and the game is at Chase Field in Arizona a huge hitters park!

Thank you, Quad. I agree that the over is a solid pick. I also like the NL due to all of the pitchers who will be out tonight for the Al. Also, no Jeter or Arod. Good luck!

I'm looking for the American League to do their usual pummelling of the National League! Let's go AL Yankees need homefield advantage this year!
Not so fast, my friend! I believe that the tide may have turned last
year for the National League after winning it 3-1. When you factor in
the injuries and pitching changes due to ineligibility status for the
AL, I think they may do it again. What convinced me was reading Nick
Parson's free pick for the game, which is as follows:

For a number of different reasons I believe the value in this contest is on the National League: In the AL: Starting pitchers Justin Verlander, James Shields, Felix

That means that starters Alexi Ogando, Michael Pineda and Ricky Romero,
relievers David Robertson and Jordan Walden, shortstop Jhonny Peralta
and third baseman Kevin Youkilisare all in. (CC Sabathia and Jon Lester are also out).
Players are dropping out every other hour it seems, but for now, here are the Starters and Reserves for both sides: American League

Asdrubal Cabrera; Jose Bautista; Curtis Granderson; Josh Hamilton;
David Ortiz; Ron Washington.

This
made me think. In addition, most of the professional cappers picks that
I have seen point to an NL victory. Good luck to you Smooth! I am sorry
that we are on opposite sides on this one. Let the best side win. Or,
at least the healthiest and most eligible side, anyway. Good luck, also, to The Club! It should be a
lot of fun to watch. Enjoy!

I'm sorry I did not notice your post when I posted mine, I was afraid of this but I wasn't sure if this was a 1 year fluke or a turn in tide. It's hard for me to go agaisnt my League so I ruled out taking a side. Now all the American League supporters like smooth and I are going to get tortured like the National League supporters used to get tortured. Back to back 1 run performances in the ASG are a bit boring offensively for AL supporters but I must give credit to the NL pitchers. Congratulations bama on your NL bet. I'm glad I did not go for Over 8 like I said I would since this doesn't look good either.

I'm just a diehard AL guy no matter the year but I know Bama was right we had alot of pitchers out. I didn't put any money on it. I may be crazy but I'm not foolish. My streak was at 0 so no harm no foul. Congrats to the NL All Stars and their fans. Say goodbye to Prince Fielder he will be in the AL next year. This is the most boring time of year for a capper. There is absolutely nothing happening but womens soccer, WNBA, MLS and International friendlies. Pick your poison. Even the CFL doesn't play till tomorrow. Enjoy the time off boys and lets get some serious streaks going in the 2nd half.

There is a dark cloud that has been following me since my extended stay in AZ during the winter. No matter where I go the weather is just gray, rain and no sun. We had a few gorgeous days in Portland before I left. The reason people love the Northwest. When it's sunny you're in absolute heaven. But this weather is making me suicidal. I'm here in SF and there has been NO sun since early Sunday afternoon. I'm talking none not even a peek-a-boo. As I post this it has been drizzling all day. Tuesday drizzle all day. Monday cloudy all day drizzle all night. Called the family back in Portland. They have had mostly sun. Today they will get clouds and rain. My point is simple, from the Bay Area to Vancouver, Canada Summer has been canceled completely. I talked to my cousin in Atlanta 100 Degrees with unbearable humidity. That sounds like hell. WTF is going on with the weather. I'm a California boy raised in Southern Cal, San Diego to be exact and I have lived in Portland for 5 years now. I lived in the Bay for 12 years." I know about the coldest winter I ever spent was the summer I lived in SF" courtesy of Mark Twain. But I'm telling you guys this is the weirdest spring/summer I have ever experienced in my life. We haven't had more than 3 sunny days in a row and that was once. Other than that it's clouds and rain. I think the Earth shifted for real after that Japaneese earthquake. How is the weather for you guys?

weather throughout this country has changed. Our winters used to be snow, now its 8 months of rain, cold and ice, and summer either feels like a nice spring day or unbearable humidity
Global warming causes changes in weather and makes storms more severe, most people think it means a temp increase of a degree or 2 but really it causes weather change and extremes in cold and hot weather

Thanks, bro! You American Leaguers had us down for thirteen years straight until last year. While back to back wins is nice, I don't believe that we will be seeing that kind of domination from either side for the foreseeable future. I am no dummy! I know things would have been a lot different if the American League would have had their whole arsenal available. Losing seven pitchers made all of the difference. Hats off to the National League pitching staff for shutting down the AL bats, however. They were relentless and dug in against all of that power in the line-up. Best of luck tomorrow as we return from the Break! BTW, congrats on that eight game streak over there on ESPN! Nice! Keep going!

Scary weather there, bro! Please stay positive, as I'm sure it'll break at some point. We here in North Alabama are suffering through the same type of weather pattern that your cousin has reported. Daily temperature have been hovering around 100 degrees for weeks now with the humidity beating us down at a 90% clip. It is absolutely Hades- like. The only positive thing is that we have been getting brief, almost daily thunderstorms which last only about 30 minutes. We need the rain since we had previously been in a 6-7 week drought. You hit the nail on the head when you mentioned the Japan quake knocking the earth off of its axis. This has been verified and the equator has moved several centimeters as a result. These scary times remind me of the Mayans theory about 2012. Good topic, Smooth. We'll talk more on this later. Good luck tomorrow, buddy. I am picking Texas -111 for W3.

The Mayans were actually on a different calendar then us..... their 2012 is really 2016 to us.....our current calender invented by a monk in the 1500's and Americans were called fools for still celebrating New Years on April 1st which is how April Fools Day originated

Thats a good point about the calendar being different. There used to be only 10 months to the year. Thats why the months have those names that don't make any sense. October=eight November-nine December=ten. In the Latin form of course. We ended up with 12 months because 1st Julius Caesar said because he was so great he wanted to name an entire month after himself. So thats how we got July. Augustus Caesar came along and said he was better than Julius and also worthy of an entire month and August was born. Good stuff. History is full of interesting tidbits.
