Flyers/Devils Over 5
Still confused a bit on the line, I get the money stand point and all.
Here’s an example
If the Yankees are playing and they’re -118 and they’re vs the tigers and they’re +118. I'm not too sure what that line represents. How would you pick that?
Sorry for the hassle

How is another example. The Dodgers are -125 vs. the Rockies +118, I understand the example you gave above and that the Dodgers are the favorites, but where do they come up with 125 or 118? Why are the numbers different? Also, Does the difference between the numbers matter? For Example, if the line was at -125 to +123 Dodgers, would this mean a close game?

Great question! I addressed this in a earlier post. The house always takes the juice. So in the example you gave where the Dodgers are favorite -125 but the Rockies are Dogs and only paying +118. The difference is the juice the house is taking as their profit from the action. Profit margin on baseball is the biggest profit margin for the books as I have been told by reliable sources when I lived in Vegas. I wouldn't necessarily say it means a close game. I would think -115 and below would be considered a close game. But remember in Baseball anything can happen and many dogs win in Baseball.
