Mostly because what you are expressing is called "main character" syndrome -> believing you are important to others - apart from that if we say every bet is a coinflip:
Going 12-0 = 1:4096
Going 17-0 (1000 USD price) = 1:131.072
Going 21-0 (25.000 USD Price) = 1:2.097.152
Going 25-0 (100.000 USD Price) = 1:33.554.432

- So to say you got a long way to go would be the understatement of the year

 I fell one game short of your 13 losses in a row. I was almost rooting against Houston. Sad thing is that this is my second 9 game losing streak and I only have 3 9 game winning streaks. I did get 13 on 2 of those streaks, but it is still very humbling and a reminder that luck will always be the main factor. Look at the current March Madness leader. They lost almost 150,000 units in the regular season. Anything can happen.

 Once you've gone 12-0, your odds of getting to 17-0 are not 1/131,072. They are the odds of going 5-0, which is 1/32. Saying you've still got a long way to go at 12-0, then citing the odds of going 17-0 and 21-0 to prove it, is just wrong. By your logic a sportsbook should offer only $100 to cash out a $100 wager on a 4-team parlay in which 3 teams have already won, because the odds of hitting a 4-team parlay are 1/16. Once 3 teams have already won, the odds of hitting that parlay are 1/2, not the original 1/16.
