I hear ya Smdio. Even when it's just a hobby and your bankroll is essentially disposible income, losses still take a big toll. Capping games and monitoring chase systems takes a lot of time and effort. When you're losing or just breaking even it's hard to justify losing the time that could have been spent elsewhere.
I've taken some of the worst beats I've ever seen in the past week. Using responsible money management my bankroll is still healthy, but the stress and frustration definitely spills over into life outside of sports. Personally, I'm gonna keep grinding because I believe things can't get any worse than they have been, and I have accepted that no matter how much you research and analyze, the end result of a sports bet is completely out of your hands. It takes more discipline to not let the losses get to you than it does to follow a system religiously or maintain proper money management.
That being said, it also takes some balls to quit while your ahead. Most bettors will tell you it all comes down to winning money. I would argue that sports bettors risk more than just money. There is also a signicant opporunity cost associated with the time spent handicapping games, as well as an individuals happiness and well-being. If there overall costs (i.e. time, money, stress) outweigh the benefits (profits, enjoyment) for an individual, then in the long run, a bettors time and resources would be better spent elsewhere.

packed it in for less than 24 hrs.....you either need sympathy or have a problem, I hope it's not the latter.
why start a farewell thread, why not start an advice thread instead
ridiculous

I quit chasing starting this Fall, and man what a stress reduction.
I used to defend chasing, but not anymore. To each their own...
Good call to eliminate those in my opinion. Thinkers system is good b/c of no chasing and all + money bets.
Flat betting AJM NBA on B and C bets is another option for you to consider if you want to add back more options later this year.
