AMEN!!! WAS & NYM won! I also took NYY and StL today. Currently on TEX. Let's close this thing out and finish the first half strong.....Because God knows, the 1st half was pretty dreadful at times
I will post all our plays for the 1st half and the record(s) as soon as I get around to it this weekend.

Hey GLEF!!!! Can you post every play/record that we have for the first half? Seems you been keeping track. Post plays and A, B & C bet records. Include the 2 losses at the beg of the season. Seems IRAGE has abandoned ship.
Just an fyi everyone....Not saying it will or will not happen, but the 2nd half always seems to go smoother than the 1st half. Maybe the 1st half we should introduce the +1.5 RL as well next year. IDK if it has any losses up to this point

Hi All...I'm relatively new to all this so any help is appreciated. I've read through most of this thread (no easy task) and I'm still a little confused about a few rules.
I've noticed (at least on the spreadsheet, not in the actual rules that I printed out) that if a team qualifies for a series play we start with game A. Now let's say that we lose game A. Then I noticed that if the RPI numbers change overnight and the next day that the same team that you bet game A on no longer qualifies that you STOP betting. So there would be no bet on game B. So what happens to the money outlay that you lost on game A? Do you simply take the loss? Am I misreading the spreadsheet or rules?
The opposite (I think) is also true. Let's say that a team does NOT qualify for a game A or a game B BUT after the RPI numbers change the next day that same team may NOW qualify for a game C (if they lost both games A & B) So we bet this team starting with a game C bet...is this correct?
Let's say that your team loses your initial game B bet. Now what happens if the RPI numbers change overnight and your team no longer qualifies for game C...do you simply NOT play and lose your game B wager? ...is any of my understanding of this correct?
Also, as I tried to work with the spreadsheet I found in the RPI section that the A games are highlighted in darkened green. But I cant seem to find a column that tells us if and when a WIN took place anywhere during the 3 or 4 game series. Is that not listed on the spreadsheet? Am I wrong about this?
Any help is well appreciated in advance.

Oh...sorry...and so not to confuse anybody I am much more interested in the actual rules of the system rather than the spreadsheet although I can greatly appreciate how much time and effort was put into it.

Lapi7, when a series starts, we only take the RPI of the A game and even if the A and B game loses and the RPI drops, we still take them until the series ends. As long as the RPI qualifies, we dont mind if the RPI number drops within the chase if the series. I hope I clarified your query.

Hi BC88...yes...thank you...your explanation helps A LOT and I appreciate it.
However, my confusion about games that are plays one day and NOT plays the next day comes directly from CanisMajor's spreadsheet thread.
In post #44 (page 2) bigdog66 asks: "Where is SF & NYM?"
(which were listed as plays the day before)
In post45 (page 2) CanisMajor answers: "SF and NYM are not showing today because they do not meet the criteria. RPI and Standings changed overnight as they always do. Looking at SF for, RPI Edge is 34, required is 42.
I hope this clears up any confusion."
Well, this is what caused me the confusion in the first place.
It seemed to me that plays were being played on days that they qualified and terminated if they didn't qualify the next day.
Please look at it yourself and see if it appears that way to you too.
Again...any insight and help from you BC88 (or anybody else) is really appreciated well in advance

1.) Before a slate of games look at every matchup between two teams. 2.) If the RPI spread is where you need it to be to chase (40-42/50 threshold) you chase starting with the A game. 3.) Don't look at the RPI again for that series - it doesn't matter, the only RPI spread that mattered was the initial one before the series started.
Don't worry about the confusion you might receive from other posts, the RPI chase is very straightforward.
Now, if you want to add your personal capping to the chase, then by all means go ahead but just realize that you aren't chasing anymore - you are capping.

OK, now that the 1st half is done with for this system, and no, I'm not on NYY or StL today. Love CIN though. Anyway, not to add to lapi7 confusion, it's time to "adjust" the RPI numbers for the 2nd half of MLB.
RPI qualifying games will now be for the rest of the season (as stated in the guidelines/rules for after the All-Star Game): VISITOR: 42 HOME: 35
Looks like next FRI we will have as plays tentatively: SF LAD (LAD have absolutely owned the madres last few years)
Also, 2nd half seems to be a better time for "unofficial plays" because the RPI is so condensed, and it will get tighter, so just because TB doesn't meet RPI qualifications vs SEA in sea, that might be a good series chase for TB. Just an fyi.

Haven't checked the DL yet but I'm concerned about LAD. I know its the Pads they will be against but would they be healthy after the break?

I have to admit that I'm not into sheets guy. Sorry for that. But just to clarify your confusion, Waytogreen was right on. As long as the A game fits the RPI chase, we chase them without minding the RPI change on B and C games. Lets say Texas @ Houston, away team should have an RPI edge of 50 (pre-allstar) against the home team. If the difference is like lets say 52 on A game for Texas and A game loses, next day the RPI difference drops to 45, we don't mind that anymore and keep on chasing Texas until they hit. That's how this system works.

B2W, should've asked u what was your thought on LAA last night. I was actually planning on hitting them with Weaver on the mound. Old school capping that is. Would u have said "take LAA?"

lapi - Just to clarify what this thread exchange is saying about both my and Canis spreadsheets.
It's correct where the plays "may" drop off or new "plays" may pop-up during a series. That is because you are correct that the RPI and other stats that are used in the filters change after every game.
That's just how the spreadsheet is set up. But everyone is correct that the way the SYSTEM works is you look at the stats (RPI) in the beginning of the series and if it qualifies at the beginning of the series - then it's a play throughout the series.
The beauty of the spreadsheet though it saves the stat history - so you can look back on any day and see if a team qualified or not.

Kudos for all your hard work and a sincere "Thank You" to Waytogreen, bettor2win, BookieCrusher88, DegenGamble for your helpful insights.I think I've got a full grasp on this now and I REALLY appreciate it.
Regarding Post All Star Game...I do understand that the qualifying RPI parameters change to VISITORS 42 and HOME 35.
I'l also be looking at some of the "unofficial plays" that B2W and others might suggest.
Everybody have a GREAT All Star Break...see you guys back on the 13th.

For whatever reason, the "quote" thing wont work. I think covers has a conspiracy against me for their lame "experts". Murphy and those "wise-guys" ya know. One day my avatar doesn't appear, the next it's something else. Great! I don't pay anything for a loss with them...But I still lost my $400 bet. Thanks experts! You're the greatest.
Yea bookie....I was all over LAA and Weaver last night. As far as the LAD are concerned...if Kemp returns and somehow somebody else on the DL does also, I will probably make them a definite play once play resumes. Right now though.....the Dodgers are the worst team in MLB. They had 2 hits heading into the 9th in Arizona. That's why I played Zona!!!

I really expect this system to kick in now. I decided over 2 months ago that this system was having an off year. Actually it has been performing very well, but the juice has been terrible. This second half is going to be much better.
It's time to get paid.
