i cant wrap my head around this agressive labby thingy..
sabres lost around -165 the other night, so do you bet to win that 165 back as well as 100 for the overall prophet of 100? (based on if you are betting 100 per game)
thanks
what you are describing is martingale. Labouchere spreads out the burden to all levels of the chase. In your example, trying to win 100 per series in a 3 game chase, I would set up 3 lines representing all the Game 1, 2, and 3 bets.
G1 : 50-50
G2 : 50-50
G3 : 50-50
Always cross off your wins first, then bring in your losses. In our example. We would cross off our two wins and then bring back in our base bet ($100). I take half of a Game 1 loss and place it at the end of line 1 and half at the end of line 2.
50-133 (the 50 plus 83 which is half our loss)
50-133
50-50
So for game 2 you would play to win 50+133 = $183.
This is "aggressive" because we are adding the loss to the last number in that line as opposed to adding another number like
50-50-83
All in all this is just a good way to keep track of your money. A win crosses off two numbers and makes money at a lower percentage win rate. If my lines get too big I become less"aggressive" and split the last number in my line. I usually do this if a play gets above 5% of my bankroll. This helps to to ride out losing streaks and avoid busting. The other advantage is you will recoup a series loss much more quickly.

I will do my best! My work life is very unpredictable. Hopefully we will get a core group of posters that understand the system and how to keep the lines that can step in and post if I am unable to do so.
I followed it last year. Very productive (except for that Baltimore vs Texas series right before all-star break-OUCH). I will be more than happy to chip in if you're unavailable.
thanks

Anyone else remember this system from last year? I thought it was one the best NHL systems I've seen and the one I started following the later part of last year. It's therizz's system but it doesn't look like he's running a thread for it this year so I guess I'll try keeping track of it for a while. Tonight shoud be Pittsburgh opening a 3 game stand at first game -150. I haven't been following if there were already plays earlier that were missed, starting with this one.
Pitt -150 A

I remember it and rode it for a while. Potential plays coming up for October 13th could be the Wild and the Canadians. Lines aren't up but they are starting 3 game homestands and could open up at higher then -145.

gentruchi, I think the number of units would depend on how you did money management. Even among people who use Labrouchere lines, it seems like there are an almost unlimited number of variations. I'm not going to even try to keep track of that, just system results. If I want to know if it's making money or losing money for me I'll check how my balance is doing. Last year did have 2 losses so martingale should definitely be out. There were a good percentage of 1st game winners though so labrouchere lines shouldn't take too long to make back losses.

Today there's one game:
Min -160 A

Just a note. I'll keep track of this series since it fits the official system criteria, but I'm not going to put money on it. I like Min's chances in game 1 against Edmonton, but in case they lose I don't like the chase, Detroit and Pittsburgh next.

I will do the same, I'll play regulation only, will get a couple of more losses but avoid the high juice...did someone track the series playing on regulation only? I think I saw there where 2 more losses playing but in PL...
any comments?
I'm in. MIN - 105 Reg.
Good luck everyone!

F**k I guess taking the regulation wasn't a good idea, I guess the system is now 2-0 for the season. Seems the next probable qualifying series will be on Oct . 15.

That sucks you guys, hopefully it was a small bet. Well, it was a win for tracking purposes. Also, I found at least one play this season that I missed. Chicago on Oct. 8 opened a 3 game homestand against Dallas at -180 and won 5-2 for an A game win. System so far this year:
3-0-0
A game = 3
B game =
C game =
losses =

The team has to be favored and starting a 3 or more game homestand, which buffalo is not.
Good luck guys. I only have time to sporadically check in due to my work schedule. Hopefully, it is a good season. I use aggressive labby with this. Unlike baseball, the juice tends to be higher but generally there are very few plays at any time which allows you to be able to put a little more on the line...
