Going to buy a new TV soon..Likely in 47 to 52 inch range..

Could I get some recommendations on what brand to purchase?

was going to get lcd instead of plasma

Samsung all the way or Sony.  Now of course it depends on how deep your wallet is.  These two are the best out there, but you pay for it.

i have had samsung, sony, and pioneers in the past and samsung is the best brand out there in my opinion. I have two samsung 47 in hung side by side on the wall and they are amazing.

I own a 50 inch samsung and a 42 inch panasonic, both are great..

panasonic 50" viera plasma....amazing picture...has capabilities to hook up to your computer....now under $1000....also have the panasonic dvd player and it is awesome too
