What anti-virus program to use

Alright, i&#x27;m going to buy a new laptop in the next day or so.  What anti-virus program do you guys suggest that I use going forward for daily monitoring and updates?  Is there a free one?  should I pay for one?  &#xD;&#xA;Thanks

I&#x27;ve been using a combo of AVG Free and Malwarebytes.Occasionally, run SuperAntiSpyware and Microsoft Security Essentials to see if the 1st 2 miss anything.

Also download Secuna Personal Software Inspector because it will give you updates to programs and/or software you normally wouldn&#x27;t look for like adobe and java.

"I&#x27;ve been using a combo of AVG Free and Malwarebytes."I was using that combo for a year or so and switched to the free Microsoft Secirity Essentials program, with Advanced System Care and still run Malwarebytes every month. I have never had a virus with either so far, well that I know off.  In a year, the combo picked up 6 things that were quarantined. I changed from AVG cuz I thought it was too slow and " bulky." That is my perception, not a fact.

Most service providers like Comcast give free antivirus through their websites.

I got Norton Security Suite for free from Comcast's website for my desktop, notebook,and laptop. All you need is your act. #.

&#xD;&#xA;good point this is true and very very easy to set up had it when a subscriber&#xD;&#xA;Looking for something reliable and not too costly available at just about any computer store is System Mechanic ....does it all protection and maintenance.....you name it, it works great

Try Google Pack which includes PC Tools Spyware Doctor......It's the free version and they also offer an upgraded version for cost....I've used the free version exclusively for 5 years with almost no issues....Several Microsoft techs tell me it's the best free protection you can get....

if its pc, Microsoft security essentials (free)...along with a good free anti virus scanner  malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware  are good
