Seeing a -8.5 in a grand slam Quarterfinal is quite eye opening
not saying Nadal won't cover it, but it depresses me seeing a spread that large in a Grand Slam QF

As a tennis fan (putting betting aside)... I want close matches in a QF at a Slam
and that's most likely not what we're getting here in Nadal-Tiafoe by any means
I think Tiafoe poses more of a threat than De Minaur does. More power, etc
What does he Tiafoe have left in the tank? I don't know. He may have nothing left.

Not only that, but what weapons does he truly have to hurt Rafa? None...hes a bit more polished of a player than DeMinaur...and look what Rafa did to him...with Nadal, he seems to get better as a slam goes on...your shot at beating him is in a early 1st or 2nd rd shocker if he shows a slight injury...or else he usually crusies to the semis mininum.
Tiafoe may get stagefright here.
Im talking myself into a Nadal or pass here

Why Tsitsi in a coinflip type line?
Young legs, on the upswing, last year was a sign of great things to come, beating Fed is a career solidifier for slam experience and confidence, hes serving awesome, and the greek crowd is very supportive.
Hope i am correct...my radar was broke last night

Full disclaimer...this event has been very hard to cap because we really dont have much data on these players besides essentially one meaningless tune up event...thus capping each game has become a "whos playing better that day" type cap which with womens sports is beyond the normal capping methods...except Serena...she had her one speed bump vs Halep which was no surprise...Halep is a champ and top tier talented despite what anyone thinks of her...but Pliskova is far from elite, and almost always folds like a tent to someone like Serena...i think this one could get very ugly and BeastModeCamelToe could take this 62 61...im really considering -3.5 games or the 2-0 sets for Serena.
The other game, gimme Osaka who has done nothing to make me think shes not the 2nd best wta player on the planet behind Serena...and not that far behind her either.

Osaka is not yetmentally strong though.. she had high expections of her and she is getting easily upset when points are not going her way.
Serena should roll, but I think Svitolina should be able to bargain win against Osaka by playing strong defense which is her strength.
Not locked anything yet, but thats my thought process watching the games this tournament.
Svitolina didnt look dominant in any of the matches but she is grinding out similar to Halep.

Serena is currently :
-3.5 games (-138)
2-0 sets (-120)
If inclined to chose just one of these, i would only consider the 2-0 sets option because 76 64 is a tilt maker if taking the handicap and Pliskova has the serving match of her life...i just dont see Serena losing a set and breaking down mentally in crunch time versus a mental flake like Pliskova

I forgot to also mention im a huge non believer of Svitolina and that this is usually the exact moment in a major where she turns into a mental midget

Osaka is a proven slam winner now, and confidence in the womens game and self belief is a huge factor when matches get tight between 2 evenly skilled ans talented opponents...and Osaka is always going to be the dictator of rallies and can get alot of free cheap points on her serve...whereas Svit is a pusher and retriever for the most part, and her own serve hold % is really very poor for a player with such a high ranking.

Completly agree with all the points you mentioned. I still couldnt figure out how Svitolina is ranked so high with very weak serve and no significant weapons on ground game.
Only problem backing Osaka was her only big was against Serena in US. I am still hesitant she be a top player given fragile she is mentally. She got almost blown away by Hseih and Sevastova. Probably I will just sitout this game.

Lol yeah Gael is eating the Ukranian HoneyBuns for breakfast recently...whatever money Svit makes this week will be spent on tattoos, alcohol, drugs and cars, amd whatever Gael has leftover, he will take her out to IHOP for a nice meal the morning after.

SW....Osaka indeed looked down and out to Hsieh...her win there was indicative of how a true champ just finds a way to grind out a win on a really bad day...and Sevastova is always a sneaky good player but meltdowns with her also are common. Osaka is still a baby when we consider her age and experience, but the sheer talent and heart and fitness she has is undeniable...should be a great match.
Props to Osaka's family and team...they have really done a great job raising her and developing her into a really nice likeable humble person.

Thats what was so intriguing of the Osaka Serena USO finals...until Serena pulled a bytch move...these 2 are polar opposites regarding personality

I'm with you 100% on these picks.
I think the Svitolina/Osaka match goes over.
