I'm new to betting on tennis but am 5-0 so far in the Aussie (not to brag)!
Nadal is playing at the top of his game right now. Many (myself not included) were concerned about his big bad blister when he played Federer. Clearly, it had zero affect. Unless Rafa is forced to retire or just gives up, I can't see him losing.
Rafa is -565 at my book and I'm looking for better options that laying that hefty price. Keep in mind that:
- Nadal is a perfect 12-0 in head-to-head meetings with Wawrinka. - Nadal has yet to drop a set (26-0) in those 12 matchups.
No way you look at it, it's hard to bet against Rafa based on those stats alone.
Your thoughts please....
Good Luck

The Li Na rafa double before the semis was +300. I unloaded on it. That was simply a license to print money. Betting on Nadal now is pointless. No value..he WILL win but to 565 to make 100? Come on..

Everyone is well aware of the H2H stats between these two. But Wawrinka is MUCH improved compared to years past. Nadal is playing well, but nowhere near 100% healthy.. Those bets are plus money for a reason. Books are begging for action on those. Don't give it to them.

because those are bad bets...

not arguing nadal is 12-0 against him, but lets be real here....the STANimal that we see now is NOTHING compared to what he used to be....
rafa vs stan last year rafa won 7-6 7-6....if you lay -565 on someone who won in 2 close tiebreaking sets you are nuts
Wouldnt expect anything less than ignorance from you. Wawa has not been imported from Mars since the 2013 season. He's the same guy he was last yr. Plays the same game. So he finally beats Novak in 5 after losing to him twice in 5 last yr and now he's some machine? Errm no. He played Nadal 4 times last yr. He lost all 9 sets contested.
People are acting like Nadal hasnt played Stan in 3 yrs or something. Stop the nonsense. There's only 1 winner here.

Nadal played his BEST match of the tournament, by far, in his last match. I'd say he appeared healthier than he has the whole tournament. Wawa may have a better serve than Fed now, but Fed has more variety and they both have that one handed backhand that Nadal just feasts on with those high top spin balls deep into the corners that routinely put him into position to take control of points.

He's coming off a great match, which is why I suspect we are seeing an inflated line. Did you watch the earlier matches? He wasn't looking so hot then...
Fed's "variety" doesn't work nearly as well against mobile players like Nadal. We saw what happened. A declining Fed isn't a very good barometer considering Wawrinka is playing the tennis of his life..

I dont think the line is inflated. I think it should be even larger. Wawrinka is a good player but he likes PACE. He likes the ball flat and hard. Nadal knows what Wawrinka doesnt like, which is why he's 26-26 in sets contested. He throws him intermittent junk and high balls with lots of spin mixed in with hard stuff. Thats not Novak's game. Novak is great but he plays into Stan's wheelhouse hitting everything flat.
FYI, Nadal was -750 in both matches vs Stan last yr on hards. And those were best of 3! So no, the line is not inflated at all.

Think it is the age showing. Fed is only 32, but considering how much faster and stronger players are these days, even the slightest declines in physical ability are exposed. Stanimal is enjoying his prime at 28.
