I Like Venus Over Kim....

From what I have seen thus far from these 2, if Venus wants this, Kim will have no say in the matter. So with that said, we should see a tleast a tie breaker to take us over 21.5

I agree - I'm on Venus as a healthy underdog for the good value.

I mainly like over 2.5 sets at plus money, but yeah, no doubt Venus is where the value lies here. I think she can win this tournament and cash two lines like this in a row.

Care to explain how Miss Clijsters would have no say here?!

Let me remind your memory going not too much back in time:

All Clijsters did in that match and in their previous US Open meeting in 2009 (which was more than enough) was:

hit the ball deep in the middle of the court giving Venus no angle on the stroke (tactic used by Schiavone brilliantly in their latest match as well with success... especially in the first set) and:

- force a shorter ball from her only to expose her awful movement with the following shot

- force an error from UE machine Venus


Now about the tournament, not sure what you watched but maybe you missed Venus's second ball getting abused by Marino in a previous round? Do you think Clijsters will hit junk balls like Vinci, Peer and Schiavone? How about Venus serving below her average in 4 of 5 matches so far?


Clijsters on the other hand (and this is why she is the best BY FAR) wins matches even when playing poorly, just like she did against Stosur. When she is on, she just steamrolls opponents, any opponent.
Another reason why she is THE BEST is because she is such a smart girl and intelligent player that usually doesn't commit the same mistakes two matches in a row, so you can safely scratch the Stosur match out of your mind in which, despite playing some awful Tennis, by the way, she broke Stosur's serve 8 times...

Williams would need Clijsters to be absolutely AWFUL to even have a chance. It could happen, this is WTA but there is huge value on Clijsters on anything below -250.
Thank God her opponent is American and her name is Venus WIlliams.

Very Valid points as always.  Maybe I'm wrong, and I know the history between the 2, but I'm not impressed with Clijsters' level of play right now and believe Venus can & will give her a hard time in this match, with a renewed level of confidence, revenge on the mind, and a powerful game. I'm leaning on the Over. I can easily see this going to 3 sets with one of them being a tie breaker. Venus knows what she's up against, she's not new to this arena, she's not going to lay down, and if they broth bring their "A" game, I believe this will be a battle. Venus has the ability to over power, out play, and has the talent and ability to win. But her head will have to be in it, thats for sure.

....oh, and for the record. I am NOT a Venus fan by far. I actually pull against her when I can.

Nice call on the Over


It was tougher than I predicted, but despite playing some outrageously bad Tennis (I don't think I can remember Clijsters missing some of the shots she missed today), playing with an awful gameplan (completely different from the one she crushed Venus in Miami with), Clijsters came through for me so, I can't say I am sad.

Anyway, there is some shocking value on Zvonareva for tomorrow, huge question marks over Clijsters's serve and her really outrageous conduction of the rallies.

I am already involved with Bepa at +226...
Silly, silly price for the BEST player of the tournament...

I thought she was going to win... But the Over was all I could play...
