Hey fellas, gonna take the advice of posters and take it easy with this tournament. Tournaments before majors can be tricky so will try to keep the load light for the week. As always wish you guys the best of luck, peace - - - MAK
BETHANIE MATTEK-SANDS (-220) - - - This girl was ultra-impressive in Montreal. Watched the entire match she had with Clijsters and contribute the close match not to a lack of effort by Kim, but just a superior effort by Beth. She was very impressive. During her Montreal run she took out the 4 and 11 seeded Vinci and Dushevina as well as Melanie Oudin. She had 4 straight sets victories before running into Clijsters whom she almost beat as well. In the qualifying rounds for New Haven Bethanie took out the 4 and 8 seeded players as well as Simona Halep. All 3 matches were very easy straight sets victories. I think this girl is a star, she is on the rise. She has a swagger to her game and seems to be brimming with confidence. She is 7-1 in her last 8 hard court matches. Her opponent Dulgheru hates the hard stuff and is 5-12 on the surface in the past year. Really like Beth's game right now, hopefully she dresses a bit better then she did in Montreal, she looked like a troll doll on crack, but her game is what matters. 2 UNITS - - - -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MAK'S MULTI
JAMES BLAKE DONALD YOUNG 1.5 UNITS - - -
I think if Blake loses this one he should strongly consider retiring from the game of tennis. In his hometown where he has had success in the past, New Haven can either be his grounds for a comeback of sorts or his career graveyard. It is very hard to trust him but he should beat Riba with ease. Blake is more talented overall. The last time Pere Riba was on hard court was November of 2009. With the rain in New Haven I doubt he has had a lot of time to get acclimated with the surface. Blake has much more recent hard court experience having played in Atlanta, Los Angeles, Washington and Cincinnati. Granted he didn't get far, however he should be much more accustomed to the surface then Riba.
Donald Young is a talent, a raw untapped talent. His game vs Gulbis was good enough for me to back him here. He has a great hard-court record in the last year, granted most were challenger events but a 40-18 record is stellar. He is also very comfortable playing in the US. His opponent Robert is a clay-courter and has limited experience on the hard stuff. Robert hasn't actually played a game of tennis in over a month. Young had a chance to take out a very good player in Gulbis just last week. Young should shine.

Dolgo still pending from yesterday, De Bakker a winner and Troicki looks good up a set and 5-3 in the 2nd. X was a push due to retirement and Wick crumbled. Still could end up with a profitable Tuesday, on to Wednesday's action. As always best of luck gents.
KATERYNA BONDARENKO (+450) - - - Everyone was jumping at the chance to fade Elena in round one vs Sanchez. Tried to warn you guys as Elena had a great trend backing her. She had won 15 in a row vs left handed players, that proves that there must have been some intricacy to her game that allowed her to strive vs that specific type of player. Due to that I wasn't ready to fade but I am now. Even though Dementieva may win, the value is too good to pass up. Due to Elena's lack of recent form combined with the fact that Bondarenko took their last head-to-head meeting which was on hard-court, the +450 is where the value is. 1 UNIT - - -
THIEMO DE BAKKER (+110) - - - Biased play here, fell in love with de Bakker's game when watching him live in Toronto. Recent form is all I am going on here. Strictly the hard-court tour this summer. Mayer has played 4 total matches beating Beck, Hajek and Russell and losing to Chardy. Thiemo has played 9 total matches. He has beaten Lacko, Lopez, Monaco and Kukushkin who had won 16 hard court matches before his loss to de Bakker. Thiemo lost to Isner in two close tie-breakers, lost to Monfils in Toronto and fought a close two set battle with Roddick. I think Thiemo has been the more impressive player recently. Mayer is a formidable opponent, but I like DB's game and think he will prevail today. 1 UNIT - - -
FLAVIA PENNETTA 2-0 (-150) - - - No point in taking Pennetta on the moneyline. If Flavia wins she will win in 2 sets. Prior to her 3 set loss to Wozniacki in Montreal, Flavia had a 23 match streak going where she had completed her matches in 2 sets. She is now starting a new streak. 24 of her last 25 matches have failed to go the distance. I think she can easily take care of Olga in 2 sets. Flavia is now 55-23 this year as well as 25-12 on hard courts. Olga fails to hold a winning record overall or on hard this year. She is 11-15 on the surface and 22-28 overall. FP all the way. 1.5 UNITS - - - ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MAK'S COMBOS

When Woz was asked why type of motivation she will have for New Haven, she stated all she wants to do is win matches, she doesn't care the stature of the tournament, she just wants to go out there, compete and most importantly, win. For some strange reason I believe her, she has that competitive nature in her and I see no reason why this 20 year old phenom cannot pull a hat trick out winning Montreal, New Haven and USO....it could happen. Woz has also stated she takes the tourney right before a major very seriously, it helps her preparation. This tourney could also mean a lot more money for Woz then just the prize money in New Haven. Woz has a chance to become the USO series champion if she reaches the semi-finals and that could equal an extra one million dollars in her already large bank account. I don't think fatigue will be a factor in this match, Woz rarely looks fatigued. Her title defense and 10 game winning streak in New Haven should continue after today. My P.O.D at 4 units is the beautiful and cunning Caroline Wozniacki.

Good writeups. With you on Kbond for sure. I had money on Dementieva that match last year where Kbond cashed a big dog ticket. She seems to match up very well with her. I remember it was just last week that Zheng took a 5-0 lead on Dementieva in the second set... and herself just got waxed by Eranni.... Dementieva is shit right now and this line is a steal IMO.

Good to know you are on Bond as well. It would be real nice to cash a +450 dog. Good luck to us my friend, thanks for the post.

Good luck- will be taking Stepanek tomorrow but Troicki has a solid chance of winning since Stepanek isn't completely back to being himself.
I agree that Radek isn't completely back to being himself. I think the line on Viktor is where the value is MT. Great day you had yesterday bro, thanks for the support and posts. Best of luck today.

Adding a unit on the Woz, line dipped a bit. Doesn't scare me at all. I love Flavia and back her regularly, but the only reason you would not want to back Woz is if you were afraid of a tank job. What you have to remember is this is a million dollar match. Tanking? I don't think so. If Woz
reaches the semis she will take the title for the USO series and with
it an extra 7 figures in her bank account. Her coach will not persuade
her to tank, her coach is her father and he seems to be more
competitive then Woz and that is saying a lot. Where do you think she
gets that competitive nature from? I love Flavia but this will be a
motivated Wozniacki who has dominated Flavia in quite a few sets in
their career match-ups. The Price is right to take the dangerous Danish
dame.

dang. i m gonna have a hard time not unloading on Caroline here. they met last year in the semis in New Haven and Caroline destroyed Flavia. Woz has never lost to Flavia!

Yeah just last week I cashed with Wozniacki as a dog to Pennetta. A dog! Just because she had one bad loss to Bartoli. Big deal, one fluke blip on the radar and now Flavia is the fave. lmao.
Wozniacki more than anyone exposes Flavia's mental deficiencies. I seriously think Flavia might not get more than one win over Caroline in her entire career. And in the middle opf Caro's hot run I do not think tonight is the night.
I do not think Flavia will beat her until they get the odds right and make Caro -250 or so. These close to pick em odds are ridiculous.

but yes, she will stand to win a very nice payout as long as she doesn't stumble early next week...so she definitely has something to play for here
Thanks for the correction and insight bud, always appreciate it. Too bad we didn't get to see if she was motivated enough to get the W. Thanks for the post.
