I know a lot of people here like to back Anderson as a dog. I must be missing something in this spot though.
He's basically an American, he went to college here and has a very solid record in the states. Crowd certainly won't get behind him against an natural born American, but since he's never really experienced that in his pro career, I wouldn't expect it to bother him. I think it's a decent spot against a guy who has struggled a lot on hard courts this year.

play the over in total games played, i'm seeing 23.5.....both have huge serves and we may not see too many break points. can get windy sometimes at ucla campus which may or not affect either player. sam will have the home crowd behind him as he grew up a few miles away.....but anderson has been showing some decent form. can easily see 3 sets or 2 very close sets, perhaps a couple breakers, so my only play is the over.

Everything up to his Australian Open loss to Schuettler was because of his nerve injury. He lost to Blake, Korloev and Schuettler in the first round, which is bad, but he was clearly not fit. After his break from the AO his match fitness and health were noticeably improved. He then made it to the semis of of the ATP SAP Open, losing to Rodick in three sets in a match he probably should have won. The next week he won the ATP Regions Morgan Keegan Championships, beating Roddick, Gulbis and Isner along the way.
I believe he then after the Keegan transitioned to clay at ATP Abierto Mexicano Telcel the very next week and has not played on hard since. If I am missing a tournament please let me know.
I think it is misleading to say he struggled on hard courts when he was dominant once healthy and those struggles he did have in his first three tournaments were 100% injury and layoff related. Hardcourts are if anything his best surface by far.

I'm going for Anderson +3 for my degenerate action play. Anderson playing well, Querrey hasn't played on a hard court lately, and the Querrey line drop make me think Anderson will threaten.

My initial thought today was to put 4 units on Querrey until I saw the line movement. I don't see Querrey losing here... but I've seen stranger things happen.

I pulled the trigger because I am up 2 units on the day in baseball... Looks like I have another 5 units coming in as well... I'll lay a 4 unit bet on Querrey.

Grass is his best surface, he looks like he should be a great hard court player watching him live, but his results are waaaaay to shaky to say he's at his best on the hard courts.
Don't sucker yourself into this one, I'm telling you, it will be close.

you still did not refute my point at all, his bad results only came when returning from injury. just not sure how you can say this was a bad year on HCs for him when once he got healthy he was dominant. if anything I consider it a breathrough year on HC for him. and I thnk he could beat Murray on a HC, but on grass he lost 0-3. I disgaree grass is his best surface as of this moment. He is a force on HCs. to me this year he took a leap.
and of course it will be close. both guys are huge servers and bad returners. I laid the juice based on who is more clutch, homefield adnvantage and the belief that Sam will be superior in rallies. and at the parlay prices I have him now at better than even money, so I feel good about that value.
I dont often play fave moneylines alone anymore.
