The forecast shows heavy rain until 9:00 PM local time, if it holds up the game will be restarted tomorrow.

Just heard that in 10 minutes they will hit the court, have a 5 minute practice and then resume play. Apparently they can play until a little over 9:00 pm there which gives the matches about an hour and 45 minutes or so. Obviously this helps nadal but I’m curious to hear who this helps in the cilic/ dpo match. Looks like tomorrow though is when they will actually finish which is what rasa touched on.

This does suck. I hate when this happens especially when you don't have the favorite because for the majority it helps them. Risking $420 to win $400 on the over 37.5 live I took when Diego was up 5-4 in first set. On edge because if this resumes I see a 6-1 / 6-2 type match ending.

No rain tmrw. And less humidity. Balls won’t be as heavy. Nadal will be back to hitting those hard topspin forehands. DSS needed this match to be finished today with no delays. The conditions they played the first set and a half in were very much to his favor. The balls were so heavy from the humidity and rain in the air that they were turning orange. For a guy like Nadal most of the force behind his ball comes from immense topspin. You can’t spin a ball as effectively that is saturated with water.

I know this is a nadal thread but what are people’s thoughts on the cilic/delpo match? Obviously the score is even right now but I wonder if the extra rest for cilic considering he played 5 sets will help? As for Del, only 8 winners so far in the first set, yet he’s right there. Wondering if the extra rest will help him get into beast mode. This match is much more appealing to me than the Nadal match. My opinion though.

Gut pick is Delpo ML for me here...Cilic on clay just doesnt feel right vs an elite in form grand slam talent like Delpo...the first set had the makings of a classic 4 hr+ 5 setter...we shall enjoy it tomorrkw.

Very much agree here. Delpo didn’t play his best but still right in the match. If he happens to lose the first set coming out of the delay then I will load up on him to win the match at + money.

This match is over. As I said yesterday DSS is screwed today playing this match in normal conditions. These guys in the semis and finals need rain and humidity to swallow up that topspin effect. I’m dry conditions you can’t deal with this guy on clay. He will topspin you into oblivion.
