Gotta say im surprised to have the option of Sock for + money. I know Cilic has been here before and won on this stage and blah blah blah. Gotta say with Sock's form of late I woulda pegged this closer at -110 a pop ish. 

 

Anyways, Sock is 2-0 career vs Cilic winning in straights at the US open last year and winning in 5 after going down 0-2 in the Davis Cup last year. I understand Cilics ceiling may be higher at the moment but he hasnt fully been on his game has seemed to kind of checked out of the season, meanwhile Sock is desperate to prove he belongs here and is playing terrifically at the moment. Nerves were minimal opening vs Feds. 

 

Taking the bet Vegas is praying I take and running with the live dog. Gimme Sock +125 for 2 units.

Hard game to read for me, Cilic has been pretty average, especially on serve compared to his usual standard. Meanwhile if you exclude Paris, Sock has lost 8 of his last 11 with many against much weaker players than Cilic

Agree with dimitri, it’s hard to take sock looking at his past bad losses. However I? think I’m going to go with Sock anyway due to how much he wants to do well in this tournament and his past H2H with Cilic. O23 1/2 is a possibly play as well, I’ve saw it at 22 1/2 at some places though so it’s hard for me to take what my book is offering. I? would love someone to convince me one way or the other though.

Considering I got nadal wrong and thiem ml ( even though i bet +4 games)

Wouldnt sock vs cilic the better bet be OVER 22.5 games?

 I believe so but mine is 23 1/2 -125odds. Would almost have to go 3 sets to hit. Don’t know if it’s worth it

Alright I’ve decided to take Sock ML +125 500/625. He’s beaten him twice for a reason

I'm looking at this game with a simple approach.  Sock is 2-0 against Cilic. Even though Sock has lost to some weak opponents I have to assume he beat Cilic last year while Cilic's serve was at 100%.  Cilic's serve isnt at 100% and it's been costing him matches he would have normally have won.  Bro science says if Sock beat Cilic when his game was on point he should be able to capitalize on a Cilic with a shaky serve. I'm just going to take Sock +110.

Sock seems like the obvious play. However +125 seems odd. Based on history head to head and Cilics struggled with serve as of late, I think Sock should be favoured. 

I am going against grain here and betting Cilic -155.... I hope I don't regret it. Just seems to easy to take Sock.

40-30. Would have put sock up 6-5 and serve for set.... I still like his chances though. He’s playing great, Cilic is playing lucky
