Tennis is as close to betting on a fucking horse. You don't know how these fucks are going to play on a given day and anytime you bet it's a risk as these players are unpredictable.
Simply dont know what side of the bed they gt up from and whether they have any ability to play. Alot of these players simply give up when down.
The women are the worst - fucking cant hold serve when serving for the match and continue to get broken after they break serve.
Piss weak!!!!
Bring back Serena please!

I believe most people are really talking around the work it takes to make an educated bet, on any sport, not just tennis when the bitching starts.
And yes, sometimes, even after you spent four hours researching your pick, and months of watching a sport, and years of watching your mm the bet will still lose...
and then you'll be so pissed you'll make a snap decision in an amount you haven't bet all month... .
At least that is what happens with me.
Back to the topic at hand; I believe you need as much information as you can get on any match up when it comes to tennis. I have yet to back a dog, and have had to chase on some faves who have all come through. Trying to figure out significant factors common in a tennis winner right now. Making sure they have come ready to play, and injury/health is an important one for me in handicapping this sport.
How do I get this information is a work in progress. I imagine if I could read an eastern european language I could gather more information.
I'd rather be playing D&D.

I've found a bit more success when, among other things, you check to see how a player has done in that tournament in years past. A lot of times a guy has a bit more belief and fight in him if he's at a tournament he knows he's done well at in previous years. It's not magical or foolproof of course, but it does seem to help with the mental problems you mentioned.

So I had money on Wickmayer today and the fucking box serves for the match and at 5-4, 30-0 in the 3rd set and 2 points away all the unforced errors come out and she fucking loses in a fucking tiebreaker.
That bulbous eyed Kvitova fuck won 2 matches in a row with wins in tie breakers.
Yeah I dont know anything about tennis but at least i know one thing - you bet on a fucking bitch in the WTA and its a sure thing the box doesnt have the composure to win a match due to lack of intellect or composure. Sure these fucks arent the best servers but how do these box continue to fuck up everytime they serve for a fucking match.
I hope Kvitova dies from cancer the fucking box

This is my first post but I've been browsing this great site for the last two weeks now.
Your comments made me smile because they echo my feelings accurately. I normally bet in-play and I can't tell you the amount of money I've lost on WTA players who can't hold their serves after breaking their opponents! As a consequence, I've stopped betting on female tennis players because as you so correctly pointed out, they are so unpredictable.
The players lower down in the rung, the ITF and Challenger players are even worse. This evening I put 100 pounds on a player leading 5-3 in the second set, 40-0 up serving for the match. The odds on the set being less than 10.5 games prior to his service game were 1/10 so I thought to myself why not, an easy 10 pounds.
Well, the miserable git lost FIVE points in a row (remember he was leading 40-0), was broken, his opponent held serve and the game set went into a tie-breaker.
Sometimes, even the top male players suddenly lose their serves completely against run of play. It infuriates me so much!!!
As someone who has played tennis and squash on a semi-professional level, I fail to understand how you can be leading 40-0 and still lose the game!

I agree to an extent. You can look at a matchup for 10 hours and feel great about a pick, only for them to lose in quick fashion.
Betting on Women's Tennis is more of a gut feeling that you definitely can't overthink.
I think hd to hd and surface means little in Women's tennis.
I have found a little trend that seems to be pointing in the right direction when it comes to Women's tennis. I've been comparing how well someone has been serving during a tournament, break points saved and break point %. These stats seem to point to the more confident and in-form player.
I also agree and take into consideration with what Fairweather mentioned on how well someone has done at these tournaments in the past.

Individual sports are much easier to predict. Common fuckin sense.
And enough with the clueless degenerate sexist comments on the daily. IIf you dont have the patience or cant make a womens pick right, dont bet on the women! There are many aspects that make womens tennis appealing to those watching it. The 'they cant serve' crap is an ignorant remark. We KNOW they can't serve as strong as the men, focus on the positives for once.

It's common fucking sense that individual sports are easier to predict? do you have any facts to back that statement up with? I personally never made any sexist comments but if you have a problem with someone making a sexist comment after they lost a tough bet involving a female then you might want to just avoid the forum because it happens, as you said, on the daily..who the hell are you to say "enough" of anything..you say what you want to and they will say what they want to, if you try to tell another adult what to do 9 times out of 10 they are going to tell you to go fuck yourself.

hers some advice: dont bet on the women! they are impossible to predict when the decent players play one another. stick to the men or the good women vs. the bad women.

Jason, It doesn't take a genius to know there are less variables and intangibles
with individual sports. You don't
need stats.
Since 'Enough' is a strong word to you, people can say whatever, its a forum I dont get
upset, sometimes amused. What I intended to say was it just looks ignorant. Mostly
just showing the lack of knowledge for the sport. But if u dont
like it, u can always bet on something u like or at least have more knowledge on. Regardless I
dont care.

I dont agree. In an individual sport all it takes is 1 person to not be feeling 100% that day.. a bit under the weather, sore shoulder, personal problems, etc..in a team sport you can overcome a bad performance by 1 individual. I dont think handicapping individual sports is any easier than team sports. I wont argue that it looks ignorant when someone goes off on a bit of a profanity laced tantrum after some chick blows a 5-1 3rd set lead..but id be lying if i said i never called a player a dirty fucking person after she choked in a match i needed her to win..there is a lot of emotion in sports and in gambling, thats never going to change whether you like it or not, letting people know you have had enough of it just seemed silly to me, thats all. Why the fuck should they care if you and i like it?

In Women's Tennis there's Cjlisters, Woz then everyone else. 3 thru 40 are not much of a difference. Play matchups, service #'s and form.
