sorry guys....this is not my most soberist post so appologies in advance. Just did a nostalgia google tour of Roscoe Tanner. You shud watch some of the old vids of his matches vs Gerulitus and Borg. Serve/volley old school wood racket vintage stuff....must watch.
I was playing satellite events when he was kicking ass and never played him (I was 2 years younger). But those flat, no wrist, old school ground strokes are a part of tennis history. Villas was the only player of my generation with a "pre-modern" forehand (loose wrist; good raquet head speed; lots topspin). Try that shit with the wood raquets he used and you will understand why he is a GOD.
