From experience I lean towards that pick too Lakers seem to always barbeque on Sundays or something because they rarley cover but I am terrible at sports so that kind of write up should be an indication

been waiting on this damn line to come out all night and all morning. i said i was going to take it as long as it was under 10, and it came out at 8. gotta say i'm not thrilled with the fact that 80%+ are also on the rockets; that scares me much more than the 16.5 points i took last night. Nonetheless, the pick is in and here are my reasons...
james harden. he has played against the lakers with a chip on his shoulder ever since ron artest (his mama call him artest, i'ma call him artest) tried to knock his head off when he was in oak city. also, i think he resents the fact that once again he's having a season worthy of MVP consideration, but kobe still gets more votes than him for the all-star game.
i don't see a major advantage in either direction in terms of travel or fatigue, so that didn't come into play in this one as both teams have been on the road and traveling alot, but both have had days off in between their last several games. this has been a miserable matchup for the lakers the last couple years up until the last meeting. the lakers won in houston in november, but prior to that houston had won four straight, all by a margin of 14 or more. just like in last night's game, this is a good team against a bad team, and the bad team snuck up on the good team in the previous meeting. i have to believe that mchale and the rest of the coaching staff will be preaching respecting every opponent and playing all 48 minutes in this one, and the rockets will not come out lacking energy as they did in the last meeting. hoping that i am correct about these assumptions, and that the rockets win by double digits with or without dwight.
lakers are also without kobe, so my hope is that they struggle to keep pace with houston offensively. rockets should be able to get to 100 with their eyes closed, so we'll see if they can play any defense tonight and get us a victory. good luck to everyone on your streak picks as well as your real wagers, with me or against.

Hope you're considering a hedge on LAL for $5 - 10 k (or more), especially if the line moves higher. Maybe even buy a point for the possibility of a middle.
Then a similar hedge (probably a little larger) on the next game should you win w Houston.
Why not guarantee yourself a payout at this point? It would suck to win 23 or 24 and not get any $ (above what you've already locked in).

@mozart, i don't have a sage stick. i do have a himalayan salt lamp thingy that we use from time to time for the same sort of purpose i believe. headed to get some garbage-free toothpaste momentarily. would love to live in a country with a legitimate FDA that would actually ban harmful ingredients so that i didn't have to do hours of research to find safe food and personal hygiene products.
@mrT, thank you as always for your unwavering support. when the streak is over, i will take some time and weigh whatever options i may have and let you know. i'm so grateful to covers for providing the platform to give me this opportunity, and to you, smoothd, skin24 and all the other members of the covers community that have been so kind and encouraging throughout. if you've made money off my picks to this point, please don't risk losing it all in one night. it's still betting on a basketball game, which is a fickle beast. i would like to think that i've been able to make a positive impact for some of you when this is all over.
running errands and catching a movie to distract myself the rest of the day. please enjoy your afternoon. see y'all tonight.

As many times as the Lakers have knocked the Rockets out of the playoffs over the years, you would think that this season would be a good time to get some serious payback.

Ok Boss, You enjoy the day! I just cant get over how good it feels to see somebody win the way you are. I used to play alot of blackjack with a fella that taught me to play winning blackjack, to this day he gets chased out of casinos and now I do as well. Ever since the economic downturn making a buck aint so easy anymore, I trust sports wagering more than the stockmarket unless of course your a member of the funny handshake club, unfortunately most of us here are not. Your skill is not to be denied Sir, I dont care who calls it luck or streak, you have a talent I wish I could learn. Teach a man to fish he eats for a lifetime, throw a man a fish he eats for a day. Organizations like the NBA are so stinkin filthy rich its beyond most peoples imaginations and they dont give a rats behind about anything but pictures of Dead Presidents. Sorry, Im rantin a lil. Imma gonna take the wifey grocery shoppin! Lookin forward to a good kill tonite! Hopefully!

Good Luck Brackson and thanks for the kind words. We're all pulling for you even if it's against my putrid Lakers. This is one game I wouldn't mind seeing them lose by double digits.

If you haven't seen Capt'n America: Winter Soldier, that movie is well-worth watching, as it has major classified information being released in the form of "fiction".
The floating-in-the-air aircraft carriers in the movie is the big one, as the Military-Industrial Complex has a number of them already built and in use. They use advanced cloaking technology to hide from all of us, so few people on the ground have ever seen them.
And a foretelling of the near future, the movie depicts a major data dump exposing the Powers That Be, which is an event that will/should happen soon.
Another is arrests of significant perps in the US "government", like Cheney, et. al.
And so on. It's a good movie that has good data in it hidden in "fiction".
I have good connections to people in the know, so that's why I posted this.
Sorry to hijack this thread.

Mr. Kangaroo lover (aka Brackson13) is giving points on up and down Houston tonight at LA. LA is 9-11-1 on the spread this year at home. He is basically flipping a coin and hoping a road team covers for a chance at an extra $75,000. If they don't, I guess there will be no trip to Europe.

Thank You Smooth, you know, my lifes work as an Appraiser was 99.99% on the level, if you had a house worth 1/2 mil and wanted it to be appraised for a 1mil you did not call me. Call me old fashion but I believe in the things we learned, Declaration of Independence, The Constitution, The Bill of Rights. I believe in FAIR. That being said, I am painfully aware of alot of ppl whom will lie, cheat and steal at any cost. The worst of them are the Rob from the Poor and give to the Rich, they do exist. Thank You for the props. Just a fair minded man.

This is one of the most amazing streaks I have ever witnessed. Just the probability alone of hitting 25 in a row if its 50/50 is ridiculous but most of the picks in this streak are favorites and the favorites only cover between 33-40% of the time depending on the sport. Today's pick of Houston if you look on the consensus page 80.59% are taking Houston it's the highest % I've seen in a long time and assume it's because most of the capper's here are riding with Braxton. When 70% of the cappers take a favorite on the consensus page that favorite covers under 30% of the time. When 75% of the cappers take a favorite that team covers under 25% of the time and it's very rarely at 80% EVER but when 80% of the consensus picks a favorite it only covers about 20-22% compounding that with the probability of hitting 24 in a row is astounding. I would definitely like to see more cappers getting away from the favorites in the future (if you look at yesterday college BBall there was 70 games 42 underdogs covered 26 Faves 2 push 500 units on each +6700) In the NFL every single year the dawgs cover around 65% and even higher on the prime time games. Probability of hitting a 2 pick of favorites is 1/3 * 1/3= 1/9
Probability of hitting a 2 pick of underdogs is 2/3 * 2/3= 4/9 roughly
And that is just another reason why Braxton's streak is so remarkable he lost 12 in a row a week or 2 before this current streak as well when you look at this whole thing on paper and break it down it is truly amazing something none of us will ever witness as long as we live…
We are all huge Rocket fans tonight!!!
