The margin seems to be dropping to -7. I gotta believe that the margin will increase closer to game-time, what with OSU's aura of invincibility...and Heisman trophy winner. right?
I haven't seen either team play this year, because I've been busy with WAC and Pac-10 games. Nah, I saw OSU beat Michigan...barely. If Florida can manhandle LSU, it should be able to hang with OSU.
My dumb picks this year: Ducks vs BY

I still don't understand why everyone thinks Ohio st is all that. Granted they are a good team, as said earlier though thie huge win over Michigan that everyone was talking about well usc killed them. I did not buy into the hype that should have been a rematch, Ohio barely scraped by on a few games, now they are facing a very good D. This will not be a blowout. I am still undecided but leaning towards Florida, Ohio st. too much to hold up, Florida nothing to prove they are expected to lose, I agree with Big D less pressure. Michigan against Ohio st scored all over them. Michigan against a decent D (usc) did not do the same I see the same thing happening to Ohio st.

Back in September I placed wagers on both teams to win the BCS Championship. So unless I come across something that REALLY makes me favor one team over the other I will just sit back, relax, and cash in regardless of who wins (But I win more if Ohio State wins so I will be cheering for the Buckeyes).
However, if I didn’t pick both teams to win the Championship I would probably be betting OhioState on the ML.
What odds did you get those bets at? Personally, I think the Buckeyes will romp. Good luck!

I have a feeling that the line will settle on 7 rather than go up. Fla does deserve a bucket of respect and if not a nat champ type game the line might be less. LSU winning initially may have kept the fav line higher but now what fla did to LSU(who self-destructructed imo) has started to play on the public mind.
I have a bunch at -6.5 but have a creative way to middle it (well placed ties win 3 team parlay cards) at 8.
This game has all the makings of a USC/Texas type line where youll see the line 7.5/7 but the money line drop to less attractive numbers for fla bettors.

Money line Fla at Calneva+225 su+7.5, for the NYg-men who are a +7 line the ml is +280 to illustrate the point I made. This can point to Fla viability for a win/cover as better than KC/NYG who are both at 7 and also why i feel this line goes to and stays at 7. BUT if all the games with lines 6-8.5 have fav covers i could see a bit of -7-120 type lines due to short term public memory issues.
im still going for a middle on this one.......cmon lucky 7

DON'T BELIEVE YOU BIGD. NO WAY YOUR GOING TO SIT BACK AND ENJOY THIS WITHOUT A
LITTLE WAGER ON IT. I'LL BE LOOKING FOR THAT PICK IN A FEW DAYS.
ALOHA AND HANG LOOSE BIG D AND MERRY CHRISTMAS.
LOL You know me too well my friend LOL.
I'm trying to stay away as this is a very hard one to choose from. Do I bet with my mind or my gut.
My mind tells me...Hey dumbass you know Ohio St. will dominate this average Florida team.
My gut tells me.... Remember last season when I told you take your Longhorns to beat USC and won " very BIG " money.
My wife tells me...Hey get your butt off the couch and....OOPS!!! that's another story
Coloneljim my friend in all honesty I still don't know but like you said ( still laughing about it ) I probably won't stay away but maybe a small play as it will be the last game of the season for NCAAF football.
Good luck on your choice everyone

IMO OSU has better players at every position except the secondary. Plain and simple, if you give Jim Tressell 50 days to prepare he will kill you. Tressell is the best big game coach in the country. Tressell is 4-1 against UM and 4-1 in bowl games. He beat Miami in '02 with inferior players after preparing for a month. Jim Tressell will have the boys ready and the Bucks roll here 34-14.

"Wisconsin sucks and is gonna get stomped on by Arkansas." this was posted by dsummer earlier in december before the game was played. He is obviously an SEC homer, which is fine, but if Wisconsin "sucked", they beat the SEC's 2nd best!!! And they are third in the BIG 10. I am looking at OSU rolling here by 10. Oh, and GL to the kicker from Florida... Apparently, they aren't going to let him make FG attempts from more than 20yds.
OSU -7.5

Ohio State+739 is the only perSeason Nat.Champ Future I placed that made it thur. But I'm trying to find some reasons to play FLA on a Prop besides the BIG10 not having open week(s) & not Title game. Ergo State has been down the longest. Is that Rest or is that Rust?

I'm saying it is rest bigeiii. An experienced and extremely well coached team like Ohio St. will come out prepared. It's not like this is the first time OSU has had a long layoff before a bowl game. Given this National Championship game is about a week later than OSU has played their bowl games in the past couple seasons, the Big 10 finishes their season earlier than everyone else every year. And when you compare a 51 day layoff to what has historically been a 45 day layoff or so it does not look as bad. If you are betting on OSU to come out rusty or unprepared then you are betting against Jim Tressel and that borders insanity. I am still feeling the effects of last time I bet against Tressel in a National Championship game.
I also get the feeling people think Florida's defense has a chance to slow down the prolific OSU offense. Earlier in the season, when OSU had established themselves as this year's clear team to beat, it became evident to me that the only two teams in the country with fast enough and talented enough defenses were Michigan and Florida. OSU dropped 42 on Michigan, in effect eclipsing the total set for that game all by themselves. After I saw that, it became clear that no defense in the college ranks was going to hang with OSU's offense. I don't want to hear about the Michigan/USC game as a knock on OSU either. The Michigan team that played USC was not the same team that played OSU. Michigan was deflated because they felt snubbed and all that game did was show that Michigan spent thier 6 weeks off feeling sorry for themselves as opposed to preparing for the Rose Bowl.
Ohio State's domination on the offensive side of the ball on Monday night will physically and mentally wear out Florida's defense while keeping the quintessential underachiever Chris Leak on the sideline unable to get into any kind of rhythm.
I do not doubt Urban Meyer at all. He is a great coach. At the same time I will certainly not give him any edge over Jim Tressel. On the field, OSU has too much talent. I think they will jump on Florida early and never look back.
My original suggestion was going to be consider a two team teaser playing both Florida and Ohio St. which would basically be won by a OSU victory of about 1-14 pts, but now that I see my thoughts organized in print, I'm not sure I feel comfortable banking on Florida to stay within striking distance.
I'd suggest taking OSU to cover the spread and also hope that no one expects OSU to come out flat.
Either way, let's enjoy the game and good luck to everyone on ending this NCAAF year on a high note.

This scenario didn't stop USC from getting a piece of the national championship a few years back.

Had Michigan had any ability against USC...planning...personnel...heart....they might also have had a piece of the national championship when Florida beats OSU.
(I stupidly bet Michigan in that matchup.)

I have a feeling that 46 points will be too little in spite of these great defenses, i am on the over here, also rooting for a middle but heavier on OHst -6.5
