I think the Bear O-line is going to maul the Indy defense and Bob Sanders is not going to be able to stop the Bears running game by himself. I am with you on this one again and I think the Bears are going to run the football and run the football and run it some more in this game. I don't like betting against Manning but I just don't see the Colts stopping the run.
The Bears remind me of the Steelers of last year. Run the ball, stop the run, pressure the QB and don't put your QB in the position to win you the game. I see all that happening on Sunday. We always bet on the Cointoss as well. Going with heads. Peace to the middle East!

Lets not forget a couple years ago when NE DB's beat up the Indy receivers off the line. Don't be suprised to see Chicago doing this to slow down Harrison/Wayne. Timing is everything in the Indy offense, if Chicago can jam the WR's at the line could lead to a poor day from Manning, including INTs.

i have learned when most doubt the colts, no run defense, etc, the colts cover the spread. people love points, the line opened at 7 1/2 for a reason. think about their playoff run, chiefs, ravens, patriots, . now the spread is hanging around 6 1/2 which obviously means the majority of bettors are taking chicago. when you hear things like " i think 48 is too high" for the over/under// come on man. you could post all the stats and trends you want on this thread. what it comes down to is if you feel comfortable and safe when you place your bet. YOU LOSE.

IF IT RAINS, WHO DO YOU THINK HAS THE ADVANTAGE?????
colts.... because cbs and dbs won't keep up with indy wr cuts and double moves???
or
bears.... because more turnovers....... slicker ball..... not as pretty as a game......... FEEDBACK PLEASE...
i wanna figure out what the concensus is on who has the advantage in the superbowl if it rains.....
The team with a better defense.......which is obviously the Bears........Indy has been good over the last few........but the Bears defense is too balanced.

Peace to the Middle East ?
Shiites and Sunnis have been killing each other for 1300 yrs.
Sir richard francis Burton in 1850 called it a place of eternal rebellion
War politics aside there will never be peace in our time there

Yes, both teams are capable of scoring points and yes both defenses have surrendered points in droves at times this season. So with that said getting to a combined score of 49 points should be no problem...not so fast my friend. Both teams play a similar style of defense. Makes sense since Lovie Smith coached under Kiffin and Dungy at Tampa Bay. He learned the defense from Mr. Dungy. The cover two is a defense that has holes and can be scored against but.....

Since both head coaches know the other teams defensive scheme so well, not a chance for an over, huh?? I was thinking they might know how to attack each other...
Here you go, hollywood...new O/C at your favorite school...

For them cappers who like to over analyze, here is some more useless information. Lovie Smith was the defense of backs coach at Tennesse back in '94. Who was the quarterback he faced everyday in practice that year? Yes kids, yours truly Peyton Manning. Peyton was only a freshmen in '94 and the next year Lovie moved on to bigger and better things.
JT, this is a very interesting angle. I was not aware of this, and do not consider it to be over-analysis. However it was 13 yrs ago, so it is probably just a curiosity. But you have to wonder if maybe Lovie is aware of a few little PM habits that maybe elude the rest of us.

Just the "too simple" angle here: For anyone who figures they will take the Bears +7 and the over 48x as straight bets under the "the worst case is I will split" thinking, be warned: I am the expert on how to take this strategy and lose two bets!!!
Both coaches don't want to be embarassed in front of a worldwide audience, so they are certainly preaching ball control and defense - get an early lead and play some good old "Ground Chuck". Outside of the prop dreamers goal of 3 defensive TD's and a Hester-fest for Bears special team scores, a Bears score in the 13-16 range is possible, as is for the Colts from 13-24. I just can't see Peyton losing this one now that they vanquished the Pats, and he is humble enough to win running the ball, just like Phil Mickelson will take a major championship even if he has to do it playing boring and not with long ball theatrics.
Of the last three "Favorite / Under" combos to hit (or push), two sported 7-point spreads - The Rams at 7/43 versus Tennessee (23-16 - push/under) and Denver at 8/54 versus Atlanta (34-19 - fav/under). Last year, at 4/47, the hitting fav/under combo had more wiggle room, but don't think a 7 point spread means the favorite and under can't both find their way to the winner's circle.

i dont see why everyone thinks rex is sucha bad qb. I mean i hear people saying hes probably to worst quarterback to start in the superbowl ever. Thats a load of bullshit. When i listen to rex grossman in his interviews, he loves hearing everyoen put him and the bears down because he feeds of it. He turns it into a positive. Take the saints game. NO ONE gave the bears a chance and Rex was furious...and look what happened. He has been fairly good in the playoffs. IF your smart you would take the bears +7 because not only will they cover, they will win. Im fortunate enough that my friends watch to much ESPN and hear them busting up the bears so they all take the colts. And im betting huge with my bookie. Im looking forward to a nice vacation after this game.

I can't find the coaralation between Peyton and warm weather and lots of points. Maybe you can enlighten me with your research. I like the under so when I see this it scares me and I want to see some facts.
Thanks,

FIRST QUARTER UNDER? both teams rosters are without players with any superbowl experience. Vinaterri is the only guy I can think about but I'm sure there are a couple more players on each roster. Anyways, these teams will both be nervous and trying to get a feel for each other. Them being nervous is clearly my opinion but lets be real here, this game is the biggest game they will most likely ever play in. For those that have played in a high level of athletics or your local Thursday night softball beer league we all get a little nerves when the season or championship was on the line. After the game has started and you play a quarter, couple innings, have your first dive from the spring board for the divers out there or throw your first two frames of a bowling match you start to become comfortable with the game or match and settle down. Now here are the first quarter totals from the past seven superbowls.....the under hit or pushed in all (still looking for the first quarter total from the Baltimore game).
Seattle/Pitt: 3
Phili/NE: 0
NE/Car:0
TB/Oak:6
NE/STL:3
Balt/NY:7
STL/Tenn:3
