I would say no joke 2-3 hours a day family calls me. And if I don't answer they will just keep calling so u can't ignore
Yes, the option to not answer is definitely a real option. It sounds as if you have a problem with telling your family "no" in any way, manner, shape or form.
Get another phone for local use. Turn the ringer off on your Jersey phone. Read the caller ID and only talk to who you want/need to. You need to retrain your family.
Email your family instead of answering their calls. This will retrain them to communicate by email eventually. But as long as you continue to be at their beck and call by the phone, they will continue to abuse you with your own phone.
All of these things are under your control.
You are not a victim.

I've never commented on this thread. With hall do respect, you are sounding like a tout to be with the way you speak, you are attn seeking and now have a corporation or organization lol. If you are living out in Vegas (not questioning it), you now have the pool party and main season coming. You said you would not drink but now you do. Trust me, you WILL spend more money out there than you will hopefully make. I go out twice a month and am very lucky to do so. I just hope you do not become like a lot of ppl I know out there who just want to go out to party, hope to just make a few bucks and do not chip in for anything. I call those kind of ppl leaches. They come out with me, have a good time but never reach in their pocket to chip in since they can't afford driving out. I am just too nice a guy to say anything to them since I know they can't afford to go out like I do. How bout people just leave me the hell alone. I paid my dues at home my whole life doing everything always being there for my family. I finally escape but can't totally and my great streak went to shitt ironically with them here. U kidding? I spoke my mind with them here and went nuts on Saturday and now relationship completely ruined with my mother of all people.

So many in this thread seem to have the right answers, methods and formulas to be successful pro cappers.
Yet I only see one guy in here truly trying to fulfill that goal. And by that I mean not just posting picks and numbers, but laying out the foundation, blueprints, the ups, downs, values and every waking minute of the work being put in for all to see.
Surely most of the advice being thrown around here has been thought of at this point.

So if I bite my tongue they drive my insane, if I speak my mind I ruin a relationship with someone as close to me as my mother. It's a no win situation. First time I ever went insane and relationship ruined. Why do u think I have so much anger? My family been driving me insane my whole life. I finally go nuts and lose it after all these and like I said look what happened

So u wonder why my bet amounts are skewed? Think about the phone calls, the pressure I deal with. Do u know how many times my father tells me not to drink and not to bet heavy? After 15 phone calls a day from him hearing that I want to do exactly the opposite and drink a ton and bet huge. I would operate best in a bubble with just my own thoughts except I have every person in my family worried sick about me constantly. I truly just want to be left the hell alone and even moving 2.5K miles away didn't help that

And honestly I didn't even want my mom to come out but she begged and begged me and I finAlly said yes bc I felt bad she is caring for my grandfather and grandmother both have dimentia and she literally does everything for them. She needed a break but I really thought it would ruin my streak and I was 110% right. Guess I should not have bet with her here

Tonight for instance i was tired and took a little nap for a half hour (or tried to) turned off my cell phone but forgot to unplug the home phone. 3 missed calls on my home phone and woke me up after the third. I turn cell phone on and see 4 missed calls and 7 texts. Phone was off so immediately they think at home I'm dead. So I can't even take a nap for 30 min without being bothered that's really sick. Oh but if I finally speak my mind then my own mother wants no part of me now

None of these family problems are ones that are exclusive to you. And these suggestions will work if you implement them. People can be trained. If you stop answering EVERY phone call, EVERY text, EVERY time...they will eventually learn.
Better yet, if you tell them, "Hey, I am really busy out here. I am not dead. Just email me if you have anything you need to let me know and I will get back to you." and then you actually follow up on the emails one time a day even, it will retrain them.
The only reason it will not work is that you yourself do not want to do it for some reason. If that is the case, then you are creating your own problem.
If you want to succeed out there, it has become clear that this must be dealt with.
It's up to you do do what needs to be done.
