Ahh...and there is where you are wrong.  Time is indeed his friend on so many levels.

28 years old...many years to recover if he fails graduate gambling school.

Rent paid up until June...THE major expense out of the way.

No part time job...full time attention to his craft.

Your attempt to create urgency fails miserably.  With a winning percentage of 57% or higher, time is ALWAYS your friend.  As long as he maintains any form or semblance of "money management" going forward, he can even overcome the $5k failure wager.

Sounds like he did learn the lesson about the $5k wager idea as he has referred to it as "stupid" several times.  So those of you who say he is NOT taking sound advice may need to adjust your megaphones just a bit.

Some of this IS getting through to him.  Slowly but surely, it is seeping into his consciousness.

You certainly appear to be of above average intelligence.  The information you have presented up to now has been overall beneficial and enlightening.

The guy liked the game.  He thought champs at home catching a couple was a play.  You didn't like the play.  That's fine.  But why can't you leave it alone?


If you read the thread (you clearly don't, I already addessed this).

The Cavs as constructed at the beginning of the year would not win the title.

Now the waters are muddied a bit and it precisely because tanking teams gave their players away.

Lebron was always the greatest player when I said that and he had a ton of talent around him when I said that. It takes a hell of a lot more than the greatest player and talent to win it all, which by the way they haven't done and I stand by my statement that they won't. I've never backed off that. Who the hell are you to somehow shoot down "CAVS won't win the title" after only 3/4's of the season and no playoff games being played.

Have been following this thread from the start.

I check the scores for your picks as much as my own. 

I see posts here that remind me of the dad living his dream through his son. He can't do it so he tries telling the son what to do. It's always easier than actually doing it. "I can't do it but I'll tell you how to do it". 
Now I know there are some here that are or have been successful in a journey like this and those reads have been interesting to me.

Scal, man you take lots of heat but I have to admit I like reading what you have to say. 

CG, what are your goals again? Can't remember. Is it just to stay there and gamble or is there a certain number you want to reach? 
Week? month? or even daily?

          His write-ups are dogsh1t likely because he doesn't know much about basketball. Real professional cappers looking extensively into player match-ups, coaching schemes, trends while extensively using many different types of computer software. Which is why they are able to hit around 55% long term and make a living. 

          CG isn't nearly as good of any of those guys; then factor in his horrible bet sizing, anger issues and the tendency to chase. You should win your 5k bet (if he even decides to pay you) around the middle of May.

As to the last paragraph - those of us giving advice (me included) have asked those questions over and over and over.

To me - this is the most troubling - and the one thing that I feel is more critical to get straight before doing anything further.  Picks?  Who cares unless you know what you are actually trying to accomplish.

But so far - radio silence from CG.  Its more about picks.  Having winning days.  Bad beats.  MILFs and tilapia.  Emotional staking sizes.  Funny vids and stories.

But nothing about goals.  No analysis of what it takes to keep the empire up and running.

  I think you were saying the shredder thing 2-3 weeks ago.  Am I wrong?  Anybody can say any team won't win and be right most of the time.  But NO CHANCE? Put tickets in shredder? Way stronger statements.  I don't know who is going to win, but I would never say a contender has no chance, especially with "greatest player on planet and ton of talent to back him up".

The bet is with a buddy of mine.  And it will be paid.  We have money going back and forth constantly.

He is a lurker in this thread.  He says he wakes up thinking about it.  So funny.

  Have you seen Scalabrine's write-ups? Player match-ups, coaching schemes, trends, and much more. But sometimes they are no more effective than mad libs (being kind to Scalabrine). Nick said he hit 60% in football and has done 55% in Vegas.

vanzack why are you having trouble understanding what he is doing.  He needed a change in his life and wanted to do somehting he always wanted move to vegas and gamble.  He wants to enjoy himself with the vids milfs etc.  You are so fixated on his process.  Let him have fun I think thats all he is trying to do
