Eight columnists from The Dallas Morning News make weekly predictions against the spread. 7 out of 8 took Pats to win today, 5 out of those seven took Giants to cover. One columnist took The Giants to win outright, Kevin Sherrington, 28-27
Dude, you of anyone should know those guys are morons. So called "football expert" Goose Gosselein was barely above 50% picking games straight up ! They always get Cowboys games wrong as well as any bowl game, playoff game etc. FADE AWAY.

The Giants have been good in the playoffs, but c'mon they beat a mediocre TB offense, caught Dallas in the 3rd matchup and Favre only made one play in the NFC championship game. Brady and Pats offense will test the limits of the G-men defense and if they get behind early, there is no way in hell Eli makes a comeback in this one

If for no other reason.........I want New England to win and go 19-0 just so that damn Mercury Morris from Miami will go away once and for all.
OVER is the best play in this one
I was torn on the side, but considering Plexiglass only thinks NE will put up 17 points, and the media want to bring another spygate to the surface............I say the PATS WILL WIN BIG!

Ok Ladies and Gentlefucks the day has FINALLY arrived. As this is th biggest sporting event in the world...I find it fitting to post the living crap out of it, mainly because I have 4 more hours to kill before this game starts!
Most of the people are on the Giants based on their run through this postseason, their road record, and the way they played the Pats in Week 17. All decent arguments. The Giants have been playing far beyond what they were expected in this playoff season. Eli was tied for the most interceptions in the NFL during the regular season, and has managed to stay mistake free in the playoffs against 3 solid defenses. The Patriots have not been dominant in the playoffs compared to what they were in the first half of the season. There is a considerable lack of big play attempts, and they have been relying on the running game a lot more. Their defense "doesn't scare anybody" as spytheweb pointed out, but they do shut you down in the red zone and force you into a couple turnovers a game. Basically they do what they need to.
As far as this game goes, I don't see the Giants coming within two scores. At first I was on the Giants, but as time passed I just couldn't see a reason why they would be able to stay close. They did NOT move the ball at will vs. the Pats in week 17, barely getting 300 yards of offense. They had a couple big plays and a kick return for a touchdown. The Patriots were without 2 all-pro offensive lineman and were still able to put up big yards. The Giants secondary is bad. The Pats have possibly the best offense of all-time. The Giants front line and LB's are pretty good, but in that first matchup they only got 1 sack..and that was without the 2 all-pro lineman. So what makes you think that they will do any better in this one??
Belicheck is flat out the BEST coach in the NFL with two weeks to prepare for a team. He has NEVER lost a game with the Patriots given this situation. The better team almost always wins in the Super Bowl. Only two true upsets come to mind. The Pats in 2002 and the Jets with Joe Namath over the Colts. 2 of 42? This game is a lot like last year with the dominant team going up against the team that is on a roll. Almost everyone was on the Bears before last years game too saying the same things that are being said in here right now. Grossman is playing controlled football...the defense will get to Manning and force him to make mistakes and blah blah blah. The line wasn't as high as it was for this one, but the Colts dominated that game. This year its Eli is playing controlled football and not making mistakes, the Giants defense will get to Brady and force him to make mistakes.
Plaxico Burress ran his mouth this week saying the Giants would win by a score of 23-17. How did that work out for Anthony Smith guaranteeing a win? How did that work out for that d-lineman on the Chargers saying "they know whats up"? The Patriots responded the same way they always do. Better to be well done than well said. They don't give a single quote for motivation for the opposing team. Ever. They let their play on the field do all the talking.

140-114-12 for Sherrington. Did you see the dopes on ESPN make their picks today? Everyone of them, except Ditka, were on New England, most had them covering. Those guys are the worst. Emmitt Smith couldn't spell "cat" if you spotted him a C and a T. Fade Bator or he'll take you down the path of destruction, again. Just take the points, you don't have to go ML, I did both.

So what does all that B.S. mean? It means that when you put all of it aside and look at the bare facts. It possibly the best QB of all-time against Eli Manning. It's still Eli Manning. Not Peyton Manning. Eli Manning. ELI MANNING. It's still Bill Belicheck with 2 full weeks to prepare for a team that he saw just a little over a month ago. He has a full scouting report for a game where the Giants played their best football of the year. It's a team that is 18-0, undefeated, perfect. Going for history. Being able to be called the greatest team of all-time without question. The 85 Bears lost, Cowboys of the 90s, Steelers of the 70's lost, 72 Dolphins went 17-0. The Patriots will NOT lose this game. I just can't see it. Even the most pessimistic side of me will not allow the Giants winning this game. But will they cover?
No.
The Patriots are superior on the field. That's what it comes down to. Their defense is old, that's the only knock on them. But they have experience and knowledge. Spytheweb says they will get tired. No they won't. They will find the strength to keep going. They have 5 months to recover. The Giants have NO answer for this Patriots offense. They managed ONE sack against the Pats in Week 17 against the reserve offensive linemen. Brady still threw for over 75% for 350 yards and 2 TD's. And as much as spytheweb and wonbadappl would love for you to believe, the Giants weren't able to move the ball up and down the field in that game. They did alright on offense. But they had a kickoff return for a touchdown that was the only reason they were still in the game. It is going to be an almost exact repeat of that game. Except in this one the Patriots are going to get one more turnover, the Giants will not get a kickoff return for a touchdown, and the Patriots will make the same exact number of mistakes as they did in Week 17. Zero. Which is convenient since that is how many losses they will end up with. Good luck to all my friends on here...it has been an absolute pain in the balls mixed with some enjoyable experiences and thrown in with a bunch of shit-talking. BigDaddy, Irish, Moneymaker, Danstyk, CoverDitty, Colonel, 3rdandLong, and all the rest...BOL in this one. I can't wait until September already! Here is my card for this game....going just a bit CRAZY
New England Patriots -12 15 units
Patriots -6 and UNDER 60.5 20 units
Under 7.5 Total Team Punts 10 units

Total Points 50-56 5 units

NE 35 Points 1 unit
Patriots by 13-18 Points 5 units

Well my friends the Big Show is finally here once again. Always excited to watch this game no matter who is playing but it also reminds me that football season will be over once this game ends
No in game for me in this one as we prepare to host once again our yearly Super Bowl party. I would like to say once again I would like to thank everyone who shared their knowledge of the game in college and pro football this season and it has been a pleasure to share my picks with everyone in here and I do apologize for the bad picks I made this season
Props to my veteran friends for another season filled once again useful knowledge
To my newly friends I thank you as well for the newly found web friendship and useful knowledge
I will miss all of you until football starts once again but I will look forward to seeing all of you once again once the season 2008 season starts.
To my Patriot fan friends good luck to your Patriots today. Lefty, danstyk, Patsgirl, ( sorry if i missed anyone ) as they have a chance to beat and make history today

As for the Giants covering I certainly wouldn't bet on it and this is betting site so after all is said and done you'll be crying just like that douche bag T.O.!!!!

Is there anyway we can just give the Superbowl win to the Giants now and "spare" the teams they have to play in the future the imbarissment and humiliation of getting blown out by the might Giants??? I can't believe that 95% of this post is all over the Giants. The Giants have been up and down all season but now after playing the Pats close and beating a too rested and out of sync Tampa offense they are the second coming...WTF!!! I have a strong feeling that the Giants will show their true colors on Sunday to a Dallas team that has been much more consistent and at home . DALLAS 31...GIANTS 13
here's another by Tapedecks:
YEAH AND IF BALTIMORE PLAYED THE DOLPHINS LIKE THEY PLAYED THE PATS..THE DOLPHINS WOULD HAVE NO WINS FOR THE SEASON...EVERYONE IS QUICK TO JUMP ON THE GIANTS...TAMPA IS THE CALL!!!
If you're trying to make me feel good about my picks today, it's working. Here's a little free advise, don't quit your day job, selling tape decks at Circuit City, jr., 'cause you suck at this....(he also took the G-men for the 2nd half in the New England regular game, they covered the game, but sadly, not the second half).

No offense BigDaddy...but that was not what I wanted you to say!! But what would the Super Bowl be without a little competition? You are certainly among the best on here and I wish you the best of luck. Here's hoping for some kick ass commercials and a perffect season!

Pats SU is all I have. 13 days prep for BB is not a good idea, & the NYG's were playing so well at the end of the year; an extra week might cool them off a big.

San Diego is so happy to finally win a plaoyoff game, they'll barely show here. This will be a track meet blowout for Indy. I think they cover by at least two touchdowns. Not that San Diego would have much of a chance on the road, anyway, but now no Gates. Fahget about it. Loving Indy to go all the way this year, with or without the Pats in the AFC championship game. I wouldn't be surprised to see Jax knock them off, but that's for another thread. HUMMM....THAT WAS A LOSER!! OH BUT THE PROFESSIONAL CAPPER GOT BETTER WITH THIS ONE:
Get your popcorn ready. TO will be in the house, just think you're on the wrong side of this GB play (and SD). There's something about that Chicago-GB game that makes me think almighty #4 will struggle this weekend, not too mention those pups he has surrounding him. Seattle, as a team, has the playoff experience and Holmgren knows Favre like the back of his hand. Taking Sea +7.5 for 3 units, and 1 unit on Sea ML +300....NOPE!! WOW YOU ARE HUMAN...LET ME KNOW IF I CAN PUT A GOOD WORD IN FOR YOU AT CIRCUT CITY...I THINK WE MIGHT BE ABLE TO USE A GOOD STOCK BOY..IN THE MEANTIME RELAX CAUSE IF THE GIANTS WIN YOU GOTTA LOT OF COW TIPPING TO DO YOU FUCKIN HICK!!!!
