My workplace does not allow us to get onto Covers.  Actually my work computer does not really let me go to any websites except our intranet.  So I see how his company may have blocked certain websites.  Stop calling him a tout unless he actually starts charging.  You guys are just jealous with nothing else to do but to come on every forum and bad mouth.

No, most legit workplaces or corporate environments do not block all sites from the start.

The IT departments have the capability of monitoring each workstation to see what websites the employee is accessing during the day. This is how they monitor what you do to make sure you're doing your work and not surfing the internet. They pull up a report at the end of the day of all the websites you visited and block the ones that do not pertain to company business i.e. porn, gambling, etc.  Managers & Supervisors also visually monitor the employees use of cellphones to make sure they are not texting, accessing Facebook accounts, playing games/gambling etc.  What it all boils down to is when you are at work, you are getting paid to work and not do the above
