Books say Philly is going too out score them by 6.5 in the second half. Melo, there's nothing wrong with that line.

I think that what happens is the same as in soccer in Europe. No one wants to see a league/or a sport that the same team wins over and over again and crush opponents...it's fun for a while (example of Barcelona) but then it gets old and it drains the fans enthusiasm. i can certainly think of some examples for the other side of that statement:
-chicago bulls with michael jordan (certainly grew sport)
-lakers and celtics for years (grew sport)
-ny yankees forever in baseball (deff grew sport)
-tiger woods in golf (grew sport)
-lance armstrong (grew sport)
-ucla college basketball
-kentucky, kansas, duke, unc, cuse etcc....college basketball

i think in the extent of a team like ajax or celtic and barclona and man united....it is true when there is no question who is going to win it makes games somewhat more bland....however when a team almost seems mythical in the extent of they can't win...liek the patriots were in football for a while, when that team finally loses like they did to the giants in the superbowl...it can make it that much more exciting...

now i know tiger and lance are an exception to your statement...but my point is a sport can certainly grow with superstars on amazing teams that win alot....it is also good to have rivalrys....

i agree with you on the extent of like barcelona....but thats why the english premier league is different then spanish la liga....

epl has consistency in teams, but every year there are a few different teams that are gaining attention and starting to stay with teh big boys of manchester united, and arsenal.....tottenham and everton this year....chelsea and man city couple years before...
I agree it is good for the sport when the wins are spread around but only to a certain extent, cause it creates more attention when that team ends up finally getting beat by a lower class team.....also it takes superstars to really grow a sport...

I think that is what is becoming pretty interesting about basketball, baseball and football now in america....the more time goes by the better athletes we get...and despite teams having a lot more money, with so many good athletes coming up each year....they are all getting spread out to different teams for the most part....where there used to be like ten great players in the game, there are like 100 it seems like now....and lower teams tend to have a better chance to become better at a quicker rate, which makes it fun for fans....In a way it depends on what you like though, it bothers me that guys switch teams so quickly every year now, and coaches as well....there is no loyalty just cold hearted business moves...that bothers me but I do enjoy the fact that a team like the Devil Rays can stay with a team like the Yankees despite having 1/5 of their payroll simply because there is so much talent all over the place....

Superstars yes, 100% agree with you. But a bunch of them in the same team (Barcelona, Miami, National Spanish team) not a good idea for economic grow as a whole (in the sport).

Lance and Tiger (Sampras 15 years ago) are exceptions bcs it's man vs man!And on those sports it's good to have "superheros" even if they are doped as sh*t
