NJ is always solid on offense and defense...Brodeur obviously is old, haha very old but I like their defense and I would rather have a veteran goaltender even though he starts slow...plus still got Hendberg backing him up..
Islanders defense is terrible
Devils had a .8 goal differential difference between them Islanders...almost a full goal
Islanders certainly are an improving team and I think they will have a lot better year then last year but New Jersey is still very solid
-The Devils did lose Parise but they held on to Kovalchuk from Russia and that will be huge from them. Also Zajak is back from injury for this year, he will have to be big for them....and their defensive core is still solid, and will have to stay that way with the number one penalty kill last season. But Salvador, Greene and Tallinder should keep them playing good defense....
I do agree that the Islanders are a team on the up and up and they are playing at home in this game....Viznovsky did stay overseas though which leaves a gap, but still Tavarez and Moulson should be good for them. .They have a very powerful offense now but their defense is still very up in the air....Just feel like the Devils are a more trustworthy team as a whole right now... ..though the Islanders after how bad they played last year have to feel loose and confident...

It was a tough game for me to choose...but w/out seeing the Islanders offense yet and knowing their defense will still have problems...I just see New Jersey as a team I have more trust in...but I understand you guys picking the Islanders and i wish you good luck...

and I mean loose and confident in how bad they played...because they really don't have much to lose after how bad they were last year, and still aren't expected to finish up top their division.....but I expect big things out of the Islanders offense this year, and Nabokov was good last year and should keep improving..

Both teams having trouble getting their mojo on right from start lately, plus Houston having a FT crisis right now. Rockets another team that depend on their starters to score and with back to back road games, they should be tired enough to not go on a scoring rampage so soon.

Come on Pop with the resting players....It's almost like he thinks his team is old or something...hahaha
POP always has a reason for resting the players and he never shares the real reason. That is the reason the players respect him. Not only reason. One them. Dunken may be had a rough night, personal issue or anything you can imagine, POP is not gonna say why and is going to take all the heat for that as he did before. And even pay a fine or two. But he is going to stay loyal to his players. That is the reason he is among few coaches if not the only one who is really listened by his superstars - which BTW are all non US players and can appreciate the man who made them into the superstars they are.

I can't tell you guys how important it is that you feel an obligation to inform the thread about every bit of the info that you stumble on. It makes this thread a very productive one and makes our chances better in handicapping

I can middle both - the spread on the Spurs and the totals on part of the parlay. But I won't do it on totals. Considering Atlanta -2 second half. I was watching both games and somehow I have a feeling the Spurs have in them more than what we saw, what you guys think? At the same time the Spurs can't continue hitting the 3s in that percentage (8-16).
