I think that the current NY/BOS series allows to the books to set fairly low spreads, as they guarantee their profit regardless of the outcome. Everyone who likes Boston will bet on them with a -2 spread and everyone else will jump on the Knicks wagon as well. A really high spread (like SA's against the Lakers) might scre off potential bettors from both sides of the line.
