edited MINNESOTA TIMBERWOVLES +4 over Sacramento Kings
While both teams have terrible records (both have lost 9 of the last
10), the Wolves have covered in 2 of their last 3 games. With the young
talent on the Wolves team, look for them to score consistently in the
second half of the game for a win (for you that is). New coach, Kevin
McHale, has the team playing with more intensity, and I look for that
trend to continue into tonight as this team puts together their first
straight up win since McHale took the helm. As such, this game will
probably go under as Minnesota tends to step on the defensive side of
the floor when they take care of business on the court. Finally, I see
new edition Mike Miller stepping up his game and having a break out
performance to let Wolves fans forget what they gave up in OJ Mayo, at
least for one night. As always, lets take that bank roll from the red
to the black.
GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS +2 over ORLANDO MAGIC
Look for a letdown for the red hot Magic tonight. They are suiting up
for their 5th and final game of their west coast road trip. I can’t
stress how important it is to look for letdown spots by teams as much
as for teams running well. Looking back into the last 2 years, road
teams favored by a margin of 2 getting over 60% of the public action
are a combined 9-16-2 ATS. Talk about a great stat! This game shows the
same potential as all those past matchups as I see the Magic packing
this one in early as they have won enough games on this trip and are
ready to head home no matter the result tonight.
INDIANA PACERS +1 over WASHINGTON WIZARDS
The Wizards are packing this baby in for the year, pure and simple. I
believe the team’s front office has caulked up this year and are
looking to get in position for a high draft choice that will put them
in a spot to pull off what the Heat are currently doing (with Beasley).
Pacers are going to come out hard tonight as they look to close out
their road trip with a win in the finally. Pacers are 11-4 ATS
following a straight up loss and that trend goes to 12-5 tonight as
Pacers capitalize on the hibachi lacking team.
MIAMI HEAT -4.5 over MILWAUKEE BUCKS
Just as I pointed out these Heat in regards to the Pacers game tonight
I wanted to go a little more in-depth here. This isn’t the NFL and
teams don’t make drastic turnarounds as often and we all can point our
fingers at Pat Riley and say he had his team tank the season last year
in order to flip it into Beasley. This team will go to the playoffs
this year and will be a Eastern conference contender starting next
year. As it pertains to tonight, The bucks coming off a nice win
against the Pacers are going to come into a hornets’ nest in Miami
tonight as the Heat look to bounce back from back to back losses. Look
for this team to control the tempo and show they are just a flat out
better team as they cruise to a Double Digit victory tonight at home.
TORONTO RAPTORS +4 over NEW JERSEY NETS
This is a game between like-minded teams. What does this mean for us?
Pure and simple it means that common sense plays out and we take the
home team. The fact the Nets have played their road games to a record
of 7-4 is misleading and as a result swaying the line of this game the
wrong way, which we will gladly pounce on a take the active home dog
plus the points. Look for a similar but slightly closer game as the one
they played back on the 12th as the Raptors hit their shots and defend
well and take the game in the process.
ATLANTA HAWKS -8 over CHARLOTTE BOBCATS
Take out the results from the almost impossible Texas Triangle road
trip and you have a completely smoking hot Hawks team that is 6-1 over
their last 7. History has shown that playing those three teams back to
back to back is never good and still is the case today. I look for the
Hawks to get out and run all over the hapless Cats as without
Richardson this team needs some time to build a team identity and
scoring leader as Diaw and Bell look to get comfortable on their new
team. Finally, after playing a few close games in a row only to lose in
the end these Bobcats are also in for a letdown and will create fast
break points off their miscues.
