Remembering Charlotte Sports from Covers circa 2013

There used to be a poster named  "Charlotte Sports" on Covers circa 2013.

It matters because it is an example of randomness being mistaken for cause and effect.

Humans see patterns of cause and effect because that's what we are wired to see.

It matters in capping because it is easy to think a set of factors or stats or anything else is due to cause and effect.  But often, just due to random variance

in less than optimum sample size

That's why it matters.  Maybe not to you.  But certainly to people who use numbers in their capping strategies
