I already spoke a bit yesterday about why I like Phoenix today and Connecticut got the win last night so I am liking The Mercury even more. Second game back for Peddy and Cunningham. DT got ejected last game which really got the team playing good ball, only losing by 3 in Chicago. Phoenix shot 54% from the line in that game and maybe would have won if they could just hit free throws. Hope to see that solid play continue today with everyone staying on the floor. CON just played 80 minutes of fast-paced competitive ball against the Aces over the last 3 nights and capped it off with a win last night. It may not be far to travel but they do have to travel and play with no rest. Mercury gotta be hungry for a win and The Sun are ripe for a letdown. Mercury play at the 4th fastest pace in the league and if they keep the pace up in this one I think we will see CON fade in the second half. I do have concerns about The Sun punishing Phoenix on the boards but this is still an effort stat and I'm just not sure the energy will be there for Connecticut tonight. If Connecticut is up at the half, I could see myself putting a couple more units down on Phoenix.

Two 5 win teams face off tonight in Seattle. The Storm are coming off a 31 pt victory over NYL. That was five nights ago. Plenty of rest for this team but they will be missing Bird and Ezi tonight. Talbot is probable but I doubt she will be at 100%. To be honest, with the injuries on Seattle's side I am very surprised to see this line where it is. I am relatively new to this WNBA thing but 5-4 team at full strength visits 5-3 team missing two starters and the home team is favoured by 6-7? Does rest factor in that much?
Anyway, I am not going to worry about that too much right now but just noting it seems strange so that I can learn from this feeling in the future depending on how the game ends up. I agree with Aussie's assessment of the matchups tonight. I think Dallas matches up well woman to woman and I also just don't think Seattle has any really impressive victories yet this season. The only team they've beaten that is currently over .500 is the Sky. Two wins against the Liberty and another against Minnesota. Also notable that right now they are the only team that has lost to Phoenix and they did it twice in a row. All I can really say about this record is it definitely doesn't tell us how good this team is. They started 1-3 and have won 4 straight but two of those wins were just by 3 points.
Wings are 1-2 on this 5 game road trip that ends in LV. Much better chance picking up the win tonight
I also see this as the first of a 5 game stretch that could have a large influence on where this team ends up by end of season. @SEA, @LV, VS SEA, VS SEA, VS LV. Like two little mini series at the same time against both teams ahead of them in the west. Wings also coming off a heartbreaker to the Sparks who trail them. Arike was super emotional and honestly I get it. You know who else was emotional recently? Bonner in that first game @LV. Next game she goes into Becky's house and not only beats her team but passes her on the all-time scoring list at the same time. I don't think we'll get anything that bad ass tonight but I do expect Ogunbowale to play angry. Hopefully that's a good thing.
