If we could figure what was going on with a woman's hormonal cycle we would stay out of trouble and win mucho dinero, right? We'd be happy our female significant other is happy, or at least not pissed off with us, we'd have more money...everyone wins and is happy.
28 days ago, both the Sun and the Storm played games.
The Sun played at Atlanta and lost 70-75 as 6 point road favorites, the UNDER cashed by 19.5 points.
The Storm played the Fever at home and won 72-63 as 11.5 point favorites, the UNDER cashed by 30.5 points.
So, we're hoping that these teams' cycle repeats itself and both teams miss a lot of shots and take their about time doing it.

I've gone from love to hate in less than six weeks on the Sun. They look dysfunctional to me. The coach looks like he is lost and he has lost the team. The wrong players are playing important minutes. Jonquel Jones is a detriment to her team this year, she's 6 foot six and all she can do is shoot three pointers. Their power forward Alyssa Thomas is a wonderful passer and ballhandler, who can't shoot, or shoot free throws. They've got Banham playing a lot when she can't do anything but shoot, and even then she is sporadic shooter, she's a terrible defender, ball handler and decision maker, besides their two guard starters, they have nothing backing them up. Stricklen has done nothing since her game winning shot versus the Liberty....if I am reading the situation correctly, she is in there to play defense on the opponent's best scorer, except she can't play defense.
They've managed to choke away significant leads in about 5 games this year in the second half and their psyche has to be damaged. The coach can't decide who can be contributors and who can't be, maybe because no one player can keep from screwing up consistently.
Ogwumike is solid, I love her as a player and Courtney Williams is great too, Williams should be shooting 20 shots a night, instead she gets about 10, which is one of the perplexities of the Sun....the wrong players are shooting shots and getting minutes they shouldn't be. Besides those two, the rest of the team is below average and they are sitting at 8th position, about average, or slightly below. Despite their overwhelmingly positive schedule for the remainder of the season I would not bet on them to make the playoffs this year, as Las Vegas is the better team.
Now, the Sun will come out desperate tonight against the Storm, but effort doesn't equal wins, especially against an expertly run team like the Storm with a top 2 players in Brianna Stewart. Maybe Alyssa gets hypnosis and suddenly finds a shot, maybe Banham suddenly becomes a legitimate WNBA player, maybe Ogwumike hits 13 of 15 shots, but I'm betting none of those things happen.

Teams that won >20 games last year when playing teams that won <20 games last year deleting September games have been....
74-115, 39.2% in the history of the database
If those 20+ win teams from last year are home favorites this drops to 29-49 ATS and 33-45 UNDER.
Last year those teams had a very good winning percentage,...every other year the 20+ winners from the previous year have been terrible, and if one thinks about it The Liberty, Lynx, Sparks and Sun have all been subpar ATS this year.

Total disintegration by the Sun second half AGAIN. What a bunch of head cases. Why isn't Tuck playing? Why isn't Courtney Williams playing big minutes and having high usage?
They are a lost cause.

lmao. its so great to see that $hitty coach lose. this team went from golden state to cleveland in the same season. def agree with you on conn being out of it. not sure why anyone is backing them. except i dont agree with u on oguimuke and williams. i think they both suck and deserve to come off the bench. they are two of the most overrated players in the wnba. this shiuld be jones team but that coach be on his period

Yes, well, we definitely disagree on our assessments of Ogwumike, Williams and Jonquel Jones.
No worries, differing viewpoints are what makes a market.
The Sun call me up to be the GM, I am immediately getting rid of Banham, Jones and Jasmine Thomas and seeing if Alyssa Thomas can develop a shot over the summer and if she doesn't I'm trading her too.
