Heading to the home stretch in what will be a very interesting last 2.5 weeks. Seeds 2-9 are far from certain, though Vegas will have to win most of their games to get in. I wouldn't put it past Bill's gals to do it, as they've played much better on the road and after a loss. Highly likely I'll play the Aces manana plus the points versus the Mystics.
Plays:
1) Sparks -3
The dreaded championship runner-up curse has hit the Sparks this year and they can't seem to win a game at home. They've had a week to figure it out and it looks likely that they'll get a couple of important pieces back on board tonight against their arch rivals the Lynx. They've won 2 out of 3 from the Lynx this year and the Lynx have been far from special themselves as the league has gotten better, other teams have been gunning for them and both of these teams have been worse this year.
I like it that Beard has come back to guard Moore...actually I've been impressed by Moore this year, it's the rest of the Lynx's team that has performed much worse than last year, which includes all of the starters and then of course they've lost two very good bench players to Seattle and Atlanta. Beard is the best one-on-one defender in the league, and Moore will not get many easy looks tonight....great players can still go off against even the best defenders sometimes, but often they have to put up a lot of shots to get their points or their shots attempts go way down. I like it that the Lynx have been mostly a one person show this year, and that one person (Moore) may have some difficulty tonight.
2) Wings/Fever OVER 170
One thing we can say about the Wings, they can score,....they scored over 90 versus the Sky despite everyone on the team having a terrible shooting performance, except for Liz. A month ago, the Wings destroyed the Fever 90-63 and the Fever will have to score to keep up with the Wings tonight. This is a very similar situation to the Mercury going into the Aces' home last night and getting a victory after losing their first game back from the long break.
It's very obvious that the Fever cannot guard post scorers (among other things) as Liz and Griner have had their way with the Fever this year.
It seems all of the first games back for teams this year have been high scoring, I feel the same will happen tonight for the Fever.

Just heard the news about Skylar-Diggins being out...if she is actually injured that would make sense as her performance has been terrible the last few games.
She is the battery charger of that team and it remains to be seen how fast the Wings play without her.
I am buying out of my OVER Fever/Wings play.

As I have mentioned, the first games back for teams have gone OVER, I had the total capped at 155'. League-wide scoring is waaaay up.
Maybe I've been suckered into this play by the linemaker and as Aussie mentioned these games between the two teams have been low scoring....I feel like the total has been overadjusted. Also coming into play as most of the games have been close and sometimes in that situation one team will foul to keep the game alive, which adds points to the final score.
This is one of those games games that if it loses it will look kind of foolish, it's pretty contrarian to where the public likes it to end up.
Good fortune all.
