WOW, these games are early. All 3 of them which is a little strange if you ask me. Great news is that Alyssa Thomas is probable for the Sun and Courtney Williams trained with the team and also their male practice partners. They also attended a season holder ticket event as well so Miller may have rested both players knowing that they have a strong 11 games at home from 15 to finish off the reg season. I am not giving up on this team yet. Their road games remaining are tough, they have to go to Dallas x 2, Lynx and then Chicago. So potentially 1-3 or 2-2 maybe. If they can get 9 wins from 11 at home and the 2 wins on the road, they can finish at 21 wins from 34 games which IMHO is going to get them a top 4 finish. Mercury are fading and have know answers for the Sancho injury. They will fall apart. Lynx will always be the Lynx but they have a 11-8 record with 8 games at home left and another 7 on the road so it isnt going to be easy for them either.
Mystics, they are at 12-7 with only 6 games at home left and then a further 9 on the road and their 9 on the road are against Sky, Dream, Wings x2, Liberty, Sun, Mercury, Fever and Lynx. Amongst those road games, is a 5 games road trip coming up shortly so thats very tough for them.
Sparks are at 13-8 and definitely need something from their guards because they aren't landing their shots. They have only 6 home games left and a further 7 on the road. So only 13 games to go.
Wings are very impressive lately, currently at 11-8 with 7 at home left and then 8 still on the road.
The thing that is favorable for Mercury is that they have played 13 road games, same as the Sun and they have 9 more home games. Only thing is, they have already played 21 games compared to the Sun who have played 19.
The schedule has been brutal for the Sun and the Mercury but I think Miller is a master coach and resting Thomas and then also sending Williams home before that road trip and sorting out the issue was a great idea. The altercation between Williams and Bentley happened apparently after their 12 point win at home vs Indy and somewhere between post that game and before their next game on the road. Hopefully its all sorted now and the Sun roll onwards.
