Connecticut has recovered C Ogwumike 15.5 in 2014 when she was rookie of the year after missing last season due to injury. They have also added number 3,4,6 of the draft Banham, Jones and Tuck three very interesting players, specially Banham scored very easily in her first game, she comes with 28.6 points average in the NCAA from a weaker conference. Connecticut kept the block lossing only Lacy 7.0 and starting guard Gray 6.9.
For today they might have the missing of Camille Little 10 year veteran very complete in both parts of the field 8.2 last year and who missed all pre-season being in Italy with Ragusa and haven’t played the first game.
First game was very good for San Antonio and they were a surprsie for me, but I have to add that the Dream played absolutely crap and have a very good bench 73-63 with overtime is a very low score and Connecticut will play at much higher pace, the team looked a bit disorganized at the end of the game after being many points down against a great team like Chicago, defensively they conceded many stupid baskets, however I don’t see San Antonio taking as much profit as Chicago did from those mistakes, San Antonio is a shooting team and when they have the day they can shoot the lights off but off the ball aren’t an strong team plus not good on the boards, Connecticut has an ambitious project and it will depend a lot on their three rookies coming from the bench but against a weak Silverstars team it is a good spot to expect them to get the first win.
