** You are allowed to make ONE play per Playoff game
So some days we might get 2 games, you are allowed to make 2 plays that day. This gives those who are trailing the leader a chance to make some ground. As I said in the other thread, the maximum amount of playoff games we will get will be 19 and thats if the 5 games series go their full lengths.
The least amount of games we will get will be 13 and thats if the 5 game series will be complete sweeps which I doubt it will be. But in saying that, you never know what can happen.
So in order to stay in the contest, you must make at least EIGHT plays during the post-season. Most of us are playing each day but for some, you must reach this target.

Ok lets get some discussion happening.. The lines I am seeing are:
Wings +4.5 and 172.5 @ Mystics
Storm +4 and 160 @ Mercury
Mercury has the playoff experience but its also a new format where its just 1 game and then thats it, they don't have another game to readjust if they needed. The Storm has been playing well and after playing in Chicago last night, I am guessing they will stay on the road and head straight to Phoenix to start training. Mercury hasnt looked good at all but Griner/Taurasi always worries me. Mitchell looks good at the starting PG now and Currie can be decent as well when she wants to..
The Storm has the talent but not the experience apart from Bird really. Stewart and Loyd in a completely new environment. Their bench is so weak it can't be trusted which is surprising for me because I watched Whitcomb over here in Oz and she almost won the reg season MVP award here. I am not playing totals unless something really sticks out to me but these 2 teams only played last week remember and the Mercury won 75-71 in Seattle. Also, this game will not be played the Mercury's usual arena, its been moved somewhere else which now adds a new perspective to capping this game
The other game I would have to say I lean Mystics just looking at the line and the fact that the Wings have been on the road, went back home for the Liberty game last night and now back out again to Washington. The Mystics haven't looked good at all but they do have the players to step up. If they lose this match, Thibault can kiss his job goodbye because the Mystics wanted to win the East (which didn't happen) and then challenge for the WNBA Finals (doubt that will happen) so this season has been a complete failure for them and if they lose this opening game to the Wings, even more embarrassment seeing that they brought in EDD.
Good luck everyone, really looking forward to the post-season.

Hey Oz, I think the home team will have all the pressure in the first round with the one and done scenario. Therefore I'm taking as many points I can get.

What do you mean when you say it's one game and that's it?
I'm unfamiliar with this new format.
New format Kush.. So basically these 2 games are single elimination games. The winners go on to iplay the Sun/Liberty and the losers end their season. The next round is also single elimination games.. I agree with the 1st round being single elimination games but not the 2nd round. It means that the Liberty and Sun's season can be over with one bad game next round

Thats right buddy, the pressure will be on the 2 home teams to get the win but also I look at road records and the Wings and Storm both have very poor road records. The Mercury game being played in a different arena puts a whole new spin on the game now.

Hoops, so good to see you buddy. Hope all is good.
Wagers might run the NBA season contest but man it's hard to run that contest because the amount of time you need to dedicate to updating the standings and its such a long season.

Man I gotta say this 172.5 feels like a total gift in Wings/Mystic, these single elimination games tend to blow up in the 2nd halves last year the lowest 2h total being 94 with the rest upwards of 100-110pts. I feel these are the perfect two teams to stumble early and then go for broke 2h with everything that's on the line. When you have EDD, Toliver, Latta, Skylar on the floor there won't be much defense late in the game. Even if we get a lackluster 1h say 72-76 I think we get a 100+ 2h to cruise over easily. If we get a 68pt 1h then triple up on the over 86.5 2nd big bet and win all 4 ways.
over 172.5 Wings/Mystics 33 bagger for me
96-90 somebody
also taking Lynx at -135 to win it all 33 bagger as this season is a mirror image of Warriors last year, Minny is rolling and not given too much respect b/c NY has won 10 straight and LA 7. Minny has plenty of time to prep for playing at Whalen's alma mater U of Minn and they will certainly use that home court where no other team has played to their advantage. No one is beating Maya this year and Minny can score 100ppg when pushed against any playoff team, I hope it'll be NY/Minny Finals

I am with you on the Lynx. I got them at 2 prices at the start of the season at +200 and +225 because I don't think the Sparks have that killer punch this season with Sims. She was good during reg season but can she stand up and face the pressure of playoffs? I also think they will be challenged in the 3rd round whether they play NY or the Sun.
