Season: 1-1
Just the 2 games tomorrow, opened up the thread to get some discussion happening early. Initial leans are the Liberty -4.5 and Storm +6.
You cannot look at this Storm team the same way over the past few seasons. They are a re-vamped team and have some very good players and a very good bench. Montgomery and Alysha Clark are very good off the bench and Crystal Langthorne is amazing for them. The reason why I like the Storm in this game is that the Shock love the 3 ball, and have been pulling them off this season so far. The Shock are shooting 44.7% from the 3 line and the Storm hit 45% in their first game vs the depleted Sparks. The one thing that the Storm did so well was shut down the Sparks. Only allowed the Sparks to shot 4-22 from the 3 line and a low 34.3% from the field. Don't get me wrong, the Shock players are better players than what the Sparks have but this new coach of the Storms along with their new players I think are going to be a very good team and an ATS covering machine. I love the Shock, absolutely but to have them favored by -6 is a big ask. Yes they pulled apart the Sky who were on a B2B (and so was Tulsa) but this Storm team mean business this season. Will see where the line moves and any injury concerns before laying money.
As for the Fever, well I dont understand why the new coach is only giving Larkins 10 mins per game. This girl was the board crusher over the past few seasons. Tamika Catchings is ???? to play in this game. Without her, the Fever look lost. As for NY, best thing was getting rid of Cappie. Tina Charles is just so hard to stop. They love playing at home compared to the road and I think they can get the win tomorrow vs the Fever team who are going through a big transistion period.
