The final major championship of the season is here, and Royal Troon will play host to the 152nd Open Championship with a star-studded field headlined by betting favorite in the British Open odds: Scottie Scheffler.

Here’s a trio of British Open picks and a parlay ticket featuring Jon Rahm, Tony Finau, and Corey Conners.

2024 Open Championship parlay pick

Jon Rahm Top 20

Tony Finau Top 30

Corey Conners Top 30

Jon Rahm Top 20 (+125)

The 29-year-old Spaniard is mispriced heading into The Open because of his poor showing defending his 2023 Masters title and a missed cut at the PGA Championship. Otherwise, it’s been business as usual for Rahm on the LIV Golf tour. He’s pacing the circuit in birdie average and greens-in-regulation percentage, and he’s carded a Top-10 finish in every event he finished.

Add Rahm ranking first in total strokes gained and strokes gained off-the-tee to his solid track record in the Open, and I’m expecting him to have another strong finish this week. Rahm finished T2 in the 2023 Open and also finished T3 in 2021, after all.

Tony Finau Top 30 (-105)

There are a pair of things going for Tony Finau this week that have my attention. First, he’s rolled off three consecutive Top-10 finishes in big-time events and he ranks fifth in true strokes gained tee-to-green, third in true strokes gained approach, and an impressive 15th in true strokes gained putting in this field during the run. Finau also has four Top 20s in The Open across six trips, including a T18 right here at Royal Troon.

Corey Conners Top 30 (+150)

The Canadian is playing incredibly consistent golf and has rattled off seven consecutive Top-40 finishes while gaining true strokes across the board during the stretch. He's also improved in each major this season by following up his T38 in the Masters with a T26 in the PGA Championship and a T9 in the U.S. Open.

He’s also coming off a strong T10 at the Scottish Open where he again gained true strokes across the board, including ranking 17th in true strokes gained putting. The improved work with the putter is especially encouraging, too. He's long struggled on the greens, with his elite tee-to-green game doing the heavy lifting. It remains the case, as Conners is 10th in this field in true strokes gained tee-to-green during the noted seven-tournament heater, but more putts are also falling.

He also keeps a close eye on CoolBet because the polar bear brand often has outlier NHL and NFL moneyline prices.

If his decade-plus teaching run taught him anything about sports betting, it’s to stay the course and use the summer – or offseason – to refresh and prepare to be better in the year to come.

Neil’s top pieces of advice for recreational bettors are to stay within your means and to remember sportsbooks aren’t bank accounts. Don’t be afraid to pull those winnings and treat yourself to a lifetime experience courtesy of a big win.
