The PGA Tour is set to play its lone team event of the season, and defending champions Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry are the clear betting favorites in the Zurich Classic odds.
TPC Louisiana will play host, and my golf picks have you covered for this week’s action in the Pelican State.

Zurich Classic outright picks
Outright pick: Aaron Rai/Sahith Theegala
+2800 at Caesars
While Sahith Theegala has had a bit of an up-and-down start to the 2025 season, Aaron Rai has been incredibly consistent, and this duo has all kinds of birdie potential. The duo will be playing the event for the fourth time, and Rai has three consecutive Top 25s, including a T4 in 2022.
Theegala might also be turning the corner with true strokes gained tee-to-green and on approach over his past two events, so playing with the reliable Rai could further free the American up. Rai has gained true strokes across the board this season, after all.
Outright pick: Jesper Svensson/Niklas Norgaard
+3700 at bet365
This Scandinavian duo hits bombs, makes putts, and can card birdies in bunches. Both Jesper Svensson and Niklas Norgaard are winners on the DP World Tour, too.
Svensson ranks 12th in this field in driving distance and 11th in both true strokes gained off-the-tee and putting, while Norgaard is second in distance, eighth in true strokes gained off-the-tee, and 28th in putting.
They also respectively rank 11th and 14th in birdie average this PGA season. There’s potential for Svensson and Norgaard to go low-low in Rounds 1 and 3.
Zurich Classic prop picks
Finishing position pick: Nick Taylor/Adam Hadwin Top 20
+135 at FanDuel
This will be the third consecutive trip to TPC Louisiana for Nick Taylor and Adam Hadwin, and they’ve carded a solo-second in their debut and a solo-10th last year.
While Hadwin’s game isn’t firing on all cylinders, Taylor is having another solid season, and the Canadian duo have obvious familiarity with the track and unique player format.
I also value both ranking above average in birdie-or-better percentage and putting average inside 10 feet this season.
Finishing position pick: Garrick Higgo/Ryan Fox Top 20
+150 at FanDuel
Garrick Higgo and Ryan Fox finished T4 in this event last year, and Higgo also carded a T4 in 2022 with Brendan Grace as his partner. Both Higgo and Fox have worldwide wins on their resumes, and Higgo is also coming off his bounceback victory at last week’s Corales Puntacana Championship.
Fox is still chasing down his first PGA Tour victory, but he’s a four-time DP World Tour winner and is above average in both adjusted scoring and birdie average this season. This duo has ham-and-egg potential and stands to have another strong tournament in Louisiana.
Zurich Classic first-round pick
Round 1 pick: Collin Morikawa/Kurt Kitayama Top 20
+110 at bet365
Make no mistake, it's been a tough start to 2025 for Kurt Kitayama.
Still, he finished 27th in adjusted scoring average on the PGA Tour last season, and playing with Collin Morikawa could be the perfect kick-starter for a Kitayama turnaround. The duo finished T23 here last year, and this will be Kitayama’s fourth trip to TPC Louisiana.
Of course, the real draw is Morikawa. He’s fourth in birdie-or-better percentage and ninth in bogey avoidance this season while ranking second in this field in true strokes gained tee-to-green and first in true strokes gained on approach. He's an ideal fit for the Round 1 four-ball format, and anything Kitayama chips in along the way will be a welcome bonus.
