Masters Week is well underway, and soaking up almost all of the attention is the 1-2 punch of Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy atop the Masters odds board.

Clearly the two best players in the world, everyone expects either a third Green Jacket for Scottie or a first for Rory. Either way, many will be tapped into who the better finisher is. I pick a side in my Scottie Scheffler vs. Rory McIlroy Masters predictions below.

Scottie Scheffler vs Rory McIlroy head-to-head pick

So many sportsbooks have Scottie and Rory paired together in 72-hole matchup markets, with most pricing the World No. 1 as a -140 to -150 favorite and Rory as a +110 to +115 underdog.

Considering Scheffler is a two-time winner and the defending Masters champ, his status is deserved. Still, when you account for Rory's current form, this quickly becomes more of a 50/50 proposition.

McIlroy kicked off his 2025 PGA Tour season with a win at Pebble Beach and followed that up with a huge victory at THE PLAYERS Championship a month later. He's first in total strokes gained this season, first off the tee, 10th in putting, and 19th on approach — all signs that this is the best he's played leading up to the Masters in quite a few years.

His recent results at Augusta National are mostly forgettable (missed cut in 2023, T22 in 2024), but this is a guy who posted Top-10 results in five straight Masters starts between 2014 and 2018 and snuck his way into a runner-up finish in 2022.

Scheffler's form is certainly nothing to scoff at (three Top 10s in six starts), but he's not finishing off tournaments like he was a year ago (failed to convert a 54-hole co-lead at the Houston Open). Remember, he had won two of his last three events coming into Augusta in 2024; he's yet to win this season.

When you combine that with Rory's plus-money price, I have no choice but to lean Rory's way in any head-to-head markets.

Best bet: Rory McIlroy over Scottie Scheffler (+115 at Caesars)
