Golf Picks & TGL Predictions for Jupiter Links Golf Club vs New York Golf Club

It's a must-win clash for the New York Golf Club and they couldn't have drawn a better opponent than the scuffling Jupiter Links Golf Club. NYGC may well win, but we're looking at an alternate market.

New York Golf Club has only won a pair of holes through two matches and sits in the basement of the SoFi Cup Standings. A date with the fourth-place Jupiter Links Golf Club is on deck at the cutting-edge, 250,000-square-foot SoFi Center on Tuesday, February 18.

It’s New York standing as a sizable betting favorite, and here are our top golf picks, TGL predictions, and a breakdown of the format for tonight's matchup between Jupiter Links Golf Club and New York Golf Club.

TGL prediction for Jupiter Links Golf Club vs New York Golf Club

New York Golf Club to lead after nine holes (-110 at DraftKings)

While there have only been flashes from the New York Golf Club on the PGA Tour this season, it’s definitely better than what we’ve seen from the Jupiter Link Golf Club trio.

Kevin Kisner hasn’t made a cut and Tiger Woods hasn’t played at all.

With New York GC needing the win, it isn’t surprising to see them trading at such a short number with the season all but on the line.

After all, it took Jupiter Links putting the lights out to sneak out its single win, and I don't anticipate them having the same luck on the greens with 48 feet in putts going down tonight.

Additionally, Jupiter Links has hit the fewest greens in regulation.

Instead, I expect a better result on the greens for New York GC because they’ve been both the most accurate and longest off the tee on the startup circuit. Improved approaches and play on and around the GreenZone are next in line with New York going 0-for-13 on putts outside of 10 feet.

I’m targeting the nine-hole market because it’s a large enough stretch for NYGC to pull away, while the singles holes are still rotated, and far more unpredictable.

How does the TGL work?

Each TGL — Tomorrow’s Golf League — match delivers high-stakes competition and strategy across two sessions. It begins with a nine-hole, 3-on-3 alternate-shot format called "triples." Then, golfers will battle in head-to-head singles consisting of six holes, with each playing two.

Additionally, a 40-second shot clock will keep the pace fast, with any violation costing the player one stroke. Every hole awards a point. There are also two more unique twists:

  • Each team has two timeouts per session available.

  • There is a new “Hammer rule.” Each team will begin the match with three Hammers. Playing the Hammer increases the stakes of a hole by one point when played and accepted. Teams can only throw the Hammer once on a given hole but are otherwise free to use them at any point in the match.

  • The maximum number of points on offer per hole is now three (should each team throw a Hammer that is accepted by their opponent). The new rule means each team will always get the opportunity to throw the Hammer during a match.

If the teams are tied at the end, the match heads to overtime, where players face off, and the team landing the closest shot to the pin secures the win.

The players will hit into a massive 64-by-53-foot screen that’s 24 times larger than the typical golf simulator. Players will also be hitting off real grass fairways and rough and tackling sand sourced from a rare variety found at just one other course in the southeastern United States.

Once the ball reaches the green, the action shifts to the GreenZone — a 41-yard-wide turntable green capable of replicating countless hole configurations, adding a dynamic twist to the short game.
