Hideki Matsuyama will look to make it consecutive wins to start the 2025 PGA Tour season, and he’s the betting favorite in the Sony Open odds this week.

Corey Conners, Tom Kim, Russell Henley, Maverick McNealy, and Keegan Bradley form a secondary tier in the golf odds for the first full-field, 36-hole-cut event on the calendar.

Check out my top golf picks below.

Best Sony Open picks

Sony Open outright picks

Pick to win: Russell Henley
+2000 at bet365

Russell Henley has a Top-5 finish in two of his past three trips to Waialae Country Club and won the 2013 edition for his first PGA Tour victory.

He’s also played the weekend in 14 consecutive events and ranks seventh in this field in true strokes gained tee-to-green, eighth on approach, and fourth in driving accuracy. He's gained true strokes across the board and has five Top 10s during the heater, too.

Sleeper: Robert MacIntyre
+3000 at BetMGM

The Scot has been playing well, and he’s been playing a lot. Robert MacIntyre has rattled off eight consecutive Top 20s, which includes a solid T15 last week at The Sentry. He’s gained true strokes across the board during the eight-tournament run, including impressively ranking sixth from tee to green.

This will also be MacIntyre’s second go at Waialae Country Club, and after an opening-round 71 last year, he played his final three rounds at 8-under while gaining true strokes on approach and on the greens in each.

Sony Open prop picks

Finishing position pick: Maverick McNealy Top 30
-120 at DraftKings

Maverick McNealy followed up his first PGA Tour win at the RSM Classic with a T8 last week at The Sentry, and he’s been on a nice four-tournament run with another T6 and T17 in November.

Add gaining an average of +2.05 true strokes tee-to-green and +1.31 on approach on the field the past two events, and I’m anticipating another strong showing rom the 29-year-old American.

Of course, he's also flashed at Waialae Country Club with a T7 in 2023, and he’s also 12th in this field in true strokes gained putting across his past 124 measured rounds. His ball-striking form and calling-card work with the putter pair nicely this week.

Finishing position pick: Taylor Pendrith Top 30
+120 at bet365

Another rolling player with a recent win, Taylor Pendrith has carded eight straight Top 25s, and he posted a T10 in his second trip to Waialae Country Club last January. The current run checks out statistically, too.

He's fifth in this field in true strokes gained tee-to-green, eighth in both true strokes gained off-the-tee and on approach, sixth in driving distance, and 12th in true strokes gained putting during the eight-event heater.

Sony Open first-round pick

Prop pick: Tom Kim Under 4.5 Round 1 birdies
+125 at bet365

This will be Tom Kim’s second trip to Waialae Country Club, and he only put six circles on the card across two rounds when he missed the cut in 2023. Additionally, there are only a pair of Par 5s on the track, and Kim hasn’t played competitively since his excellent solo second at the Hero World Challenge in early December.

Kim also ranked 120th in Round-1 scoring last season, and finishing 84th in Par-4 birdie-or-better percentage and 142nd in bogey avoidance don’t bode well, either.
