Following the recent announcement by the British gambling company bet365 that it had become the first official sports betting partner of the UEFA Champions League (UCL), the company has revealed a giveaway as part of the partnership.

Starting August 31, bet365 will give away over 3,000 free tickets to UCL matches over the 2024-25 season to celebrate the new collaboration. During the league phase of the tournament, in which 36 teams play, the company is giving away 20 tickets per match. So, in total, 360 tickets are up for grabs each week.

Fans can enter the draws for free via the bet365 app, which is available to download for free on both iOS and Android devices. Terms and conditions apply, including a minimum age requirement and geographical restrictions.

A special giveaway

bet365 also announced that it has partnered with football legends Clarence Seedorf and Stiliyan Petrov for a one-off live draw ticket giveaway. The footballers will be hosting giveaways in Birmingham and London, taking place on Thursday, August 29, between 4 pm and 5 pm.

The first ten fans at each location to track down the footballer and tell them the code words could win one of four pairs of UCL home game tickets. Per the terms, fans must be present at the in-person live draw from 5 pm to 6 pm on August 29 to be in with a chance of winning.

New format

The 2024-25 Champions League will be the 70th season of the competition and the 33rd since it was rebranded from the European Champion Clubs’ Cup. Running from July 9, 2024, through May 31, 2025, this year’s will also be the first season under the new format, in which 36 clubs are pooled together in one league. Previously, the league featured 32 clubs split into eight groups of four. Under the new format, each team will play eight matches during the league phase.

About bet365

Today, bet365 is a global betting powerhouse, but it hasn’t always been. The company started in 1974 as a series of small betting points across the UK named “Provincial Races.” In 2000, the owner, Peter Coates, handed the business down to his daughter, Denise Coates, who founded bet365 as we know it today. Now, the company serves over 100 million customers in more than 150 countries across the globe.

Earlier this week, bet365 unveiled its latest ad campaign ahead of the 2024-25 NFL season, titled Breaking News. The campaign features a 60-second commercial showcasing several big sporting events co-occurring on the same day, spreading the message that “any sport can have an amazing moment.” It continues on from last year’s Never Ordinary campaign, which was created by the same marketing agency, Drummond Central.

“I’m really excited about this creative, it’s a beautifully simple idea that really articulates how bet365 elevates moments. We are absolutely unique, standout and we’re Never Ordinary,” commented Chloe Shrubb, bet365's global head of brand marketing.
