Bet99 has become an official Canadian sports betting partner of the NHL.
The new partnership has made Bet99 the latest sportsbook to team up with the league, as it signed a multi-year contract to launch a free-to-play game called NHL Preplay for fans and punters in Canada.
NHL PrePlay is a game for fans who are provided with predictive outcome-based questions, and players are awarded points for each answer they predict correctly. The top scorer across the 2022/23 NHL season will win the CA$100,000 jackpot.
As well as the grand prize, there will be a long list of prizes and giveaways as part of the game, including NHL Shop gift cards, weekly ticket giveaways, as well as a monthly trip giveaway to an NHL tentpole event.
Jared Beber, CEO of Bet99, stated that “This partnership is groundbreaking for Canadian hockey and sports fans. NHL PrePlay will amplify fan engagement excitement around the NHL games, especially the prizes, which include access to once-in-a-lifetime experiences”.
Existing partnerships
With a deal with superstar Auston Matthews already in place, Bet99 is leaning into its engagement with the league and Canada’s national sport. It will also provide them with further opportunities to reach the NHL's massive following, prioritizing digital and social media channels.
This digital marketing will include Digitally Enhanced Dasherboard advertisements on NHL regular season and Stanley Cup playoff games wired on Rogers Sportsnet.
As well as Bet99, NHL has strong legal sports betting partnerships in place already, including key deals with FanDuel and BetMGM. These partnerships, like Bet99's, come with new games and initiatives for fans of the NHL, like Odds Tickers, Daily Fantasy games, and custom NHL content.
Bet99 boasts a number of unique Canadian partnerships now added to with the NHL, including UFC Hall of Famer George St-Pierre, Olympian Alysha Newman, and former Toronto FC star Sebastian Giovinco. It also currently holds partnerships with the Ottawa Senators, CF Montreal, and the Montreal Alouettes.
After launching in 2020, Bet99 transitioned into the Ontario province-regulated market this year after opening as a “grey market” operator. With the advertising of its Free-to-Play game and partnerships with prestigious athletes, Bet99 has earned huge recognition across the country. It has become one of the biggest online sports and online casino betting sites in the country and handles more than $1.2 billion in wagers.
