Sports betting giant BetMGM has launched a series of new features in time for the start of football season. The new offerings have been designed to streamline the sports betting experience.
The highlight of the overhaul is new exclusive betting markets powered by Angstrom, the sports modeling and analytics company Entain acquired last year. Angstrom's play-by-play simulation-based pricing models were first made available during the baseball season, but are now being rolled out to BetMGM’s biggest-ever set of football betting markets.
The upcoming season will see BetMGM offer almost 1,000 futures markets including awards, player, and team props. In total, the operator is offering 450 different ways to bet on every pro football game this season, with differentiated markets being launched in the first week of games.
New sports betting features
Several new features are being rolled out in time for the start of the season. One likely to sway predictions at the last minute is the company’s brand-new Smart Stats. Players will now have full access to a range of different insights as they place their bets, with key data displayed next to betting markets.
Other new features include powered-up parlay enhancements, also designed by Angstrom. Players will be offered easy-to-build same-game parlays (SGPs) and SGP+, along with an increased selection of pre-packaged parlays. Parlays can now be built anywhere in the app, for the first time.
Players will be able to track wagers in real-time, using new live bet tracking options. BetMGM has also redesigned its bet slip; the new design gives full visibility over all betting options at a glance. The changes intend to make it more convenient for players to place different types of bets in one place, at one time.
A digital wallet will also make life easier for players. The company was the first sports betting app to offer Nevada players full connectivity through a single account, meaning there’s no need for players to create multiple accounts to access different markets across the country.
“BetMGM puts customers first, responding to players' feedback and investing in user experiences to exceed expectations, said BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt in a press release. “Leveraging our powerful in-house technology, we developed a more seamless, intuitive and integrated product. The BetMGM sports betting app is the perfect companion for the upcoming football season whether fans are enjoying the action in Vegas or at home.”
Additional perks
BetMGM players can also collect Rewards Points and Tier Credits, along with other rewards like offers for MGM Resorts destinations. The company continues to develop its competitive rewards scheme, which The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas joined in July.
As players accumulate points throughout the football season, they can use them towards their own rewards scheme or exchange them for Marriott Bonvoy points, which can be used for free stays with the hotel chain. As part of BetMGM's app overhaul, players who link their BetMGM and Marriott Bonvoy accounts will be eligible for 3,000 Marriott Bonvoy points as soon as they place their first bet.
